This week began with notable events and meetings, as always. Starting with the visit of the Honorable Minister, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the engaging discussions with our partners and stakeholders, and the successful accelerator programme launch event, every single one of these meetings and events brought opportunities and collaborations.
On Monday, I was honored to receive the Honorable Minister, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani His presence at the NIGERIAN COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE LIMITED (NIGCOMSAT) office marked the official announcement of the 774-LG project to our team, coupled with a firsthand tour of our ground station. We take pride in the role we play in this project, using the NigComSat-1R satellite to connect local government areas across Nigeria. We are co-anchoring this with Galaxy Backbone , and this makes me even more confident of the positive outcome that this project will bring to the nation. Our primary focus is on promoting access to digital public infrastructure within the government.
On Tuesday, the Eutelsat Group , led by Anastasios Nikoyannis , the Senior Sales Director Africa for broadband, Modupe Okeowo, MBA Country Manager visited my office. I sensed the significance of this meeting as we discussed ways to grow together and work in partnership. This discussion was very fruitful, and I am hopeful for the positive impact of our discussion.
On Wednesday, Ifedy Eze , the Managing Director at Founder Institute Lagos , came by the office. The Founders Institute, with its mission to help talented people worldwide create impactful tech companies, got us talking about how we might team up. Exploring a partnership between NIGCOMSAT and the Founders Institute could open doors for both of us.
Afterwards, I had a meeting with Chihurumnanya Nwanevu , the National President of the Nigeria Association of Computing Students (NACOS National), and Omotolani Akanni CCS,GMCPN , the Vice President. We had a good chat about working together, focusing on creating opportunities for Nigerian youth and computing students to advance. This exploration is meaningful, as it shows how open these young emerging talents are to growth and our commitment to helping young, passionate people make a positive impact.

The launch of the NigComSat Accelerator Programme was a momentous occasion. On Thursday, the incredible support we received—from the presence of MDs and EDs from various ministries, the Senate Committee on ICT & Cybersecurity, the Chairman, House Committee on Digital Communications Technology, who I call the ICT Squad, the evaluators, the panelists, and every person that was present in that room—truly humbled us.
The launch of the NigComSat Accelerator Programme has set in motion a chain reaction of positive change. We're doing this to empower these startups, nurture their already existing products and services, and provide them with the tools and resources they need to turn their dreams into reality. This programme has the potential to benefit the entire Nigerian space-tech ecosystem. By encouraging collaboration and innovation, we're creating a fertile ground for growth, and positioning Nigeria as a leader in this field. This programme is an investment in our future, a chance to open up the potential of space technology and propel our nation forward.
The meeting on Friday, where my team and I presented NIGCOMSAT's plans to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Engr. Faruk Yusuf Yabo, R.Eng. FNSE. FSESN. , was essential. It provided a platform to articulate our vision and initiatives directly to a key stakeholder in the government. This meeting was one of the most important we had this week, with potential for streamlined coordination, support, and synergies that can amplify the positive contributions of NIGCOMSAT within the framework of the government's digital and innovative agenda.
Following this, I received the Hauwa Etogbe Chioma Orjiako. Hauwa Idi Jimeta and Uche Chidiebere of FGGC Owerri, Old Girls Association, from way back. They paid a courtesy visit, and believe me, it was nothing short of exciting.
I am grateful for how well things are aligning, and we look forward to building on these positive moments for the continued growth and success of NIGCOMSAT. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this week truly exceptional.
