Week Recap

Week Recap

Monday started with an innovation brainstorming session with the Minister of FMoCDE Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani and representatives from the Ministry to discuss spectrum allocation, an important element in our digital transformation journey.

Tuesday, Women in Aerospace called, and I answered. It was exciting to be present at the year-end celebration. Some of the things that stuck with me during their presentation were how they have spent the past couple of years supporting and celebrating young girls. I think it was important to celebrate themselves. In my address, I emphasized the importance of continuous growth and the role innovation plays in achieving it. While acknowledging their passion, I encouraged them to ponder ways to further expand their reach and inspire more women to pursue STEM education and careers in space technology.

Meeting with the MD, NAPET.

Wednesday, I had a lengthy but vital meeting with Mr. Sanusi Yerima , Managing Director of National Petroleum Telecommunications Limited. Our discussions centered around the Renewed Hope Agenda, specifically focusing on creating an infrastructure beyond business value , one that considers equitable access to education and empowering youths through digital inclusion leveraging on our existing partnership. Making the internet accessible in even the most remote areas is key, and I believe partnering with NAPET has the potential to turn this vision into reality.

Meeting at NBC

The NIGCOMSAT team, visited the NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMMISSION (NBC) to meet with the Managing Director, Dr. Charles Ebuebu. The partnership has begun, and the projects we are kickstarting are for the betterment of all. I’ve said this before and again, I believe that asking questions and actively seeking answers is important for progress, and this collaboration will guide us forward.

UNICCON group of companies

One of the five pillar's of the Ministry's strategic plan is Knowledge. As we work to deepen and accelerate our position in global research in key technology areas It was great to have visited the facilities of UNICCON Group of Companies . A visit to their AI lab, Biotech lad and the first African Humanoid Robot-Omeife AI. Accompanied by my team, I met with the Chairman, Chuks Ekwueme , and the CEO of Babasky Technologies, a subsidiary of the Group, Mr. Ronald Ajiboye .

Global satellite operator's association

The day concluded with my participation in the Board meeting of the Global Satellite Operator's Association (GSOA) event. As the premier platform for worldwide collaboration within the satellite ecosystem, GSOA plays an important role in uniting various stakeholders and advancing the industry. It was a time to present and discuss the 2024 Objectives and KPIs. The overall objective; increasing satellite industry profile & advancing policies to maximize use & expansion of innovative satellite based technologies.
