This week in process excellence

Welcome to this week’s PEX Network wrap-up, where we’ve gathered the most important stories on operational excellence, digital transformation, AI and process intelligence!?

On Monday, our Research & Reports bulletin examined new research from The Alan Turing Institute , which revealed that nearly 30 percent of UK doctors now use AI in their practices, highlighting the potential for technology to reshape healthcare workflows. Diagnostic decision support (DDS) and generative AI, each used by around 16 percent of doctors, are proving valuable for risk assessments and diagnostics. While AI has shown improvements in decision-making and productivity, gaps in training and accountability highlight a need for structured AI integration.??

Elsewhere, a private bank in Iran implemented process mining technology to revolutionize its logistics, pinpointing bottlenecks and improving service delivery times. By leveraging Disco 2.14 software, the bank used data-driven insights to refine its workflows. This enabled them to cut down on invoice registration and order processing inefficiencies. Process mining can drive real-time improvements in operational efficiency, setting a precedent for banks aiming to enhance resilience and responsiveness in fluctuating markets.?

Also, the European Investment Bank (EIB) ’s 2024 Investment Survey highlighted that EU companies are at the forefront of green and digital transformations, with 60 percent focused on climate-related initiatives and 70 percent investing in digital technologies.
