DANTE OLIVEIRA AND FMF KTM FACTORY RACING CLINCH BACK-TO-BACK WHS CHAMPIONSHIPS
FMF KTM Factory Racing and Dante Oliveira have captured a second-consecutive AMA West Hare Scrambles (WHS) title following a hard-fought final round at Wilseyville, where teammate Mateo Oliveira placed second on the Pro Class podium and Angus Riordan finished P1 in the Pro 250 Class.
Oliveira had to fight his way through the pack to P5 overall and P4 in the Pro Class onboard his KTM 350 SX-F at Wilseyville in Northern California, which was enough to take home the WHS championship for the second year in a row despite missing a round through injury.
Dante Oliveira: "I got a terrible start and was way back –?it's been a while since I've been that far back in a race here on the West Coast! The track today was high-speed, pretty nasty, and I knew I had a lot of work ahead of me. I charged as hard as I could and it was a tight finish, but we did what we needed to in the final round, and we're stoked to bring home another WHS championship!"
Younger brother and FMF KTM Factory Racing teammate Mateo Oliveira finished the season in impressive fashion with an instrumental P2 result in class and third on the overall podium, which also secured him third position in the final WHS standings.
Mateo Oliveira: "That was a crazy race! The start was crucial and I was right there on the first lap, but then managed things from there to keep myself in a good position. I charged hard on those last few laps and knew that result for second was important, so I'm looking forward to next year now."
FMF KTM Factory Racing Team Landers rider Gus Riordan made a guest appearance in the WHS finale and made a strong impression, winning the Pro 250 Class and claiming second position overall equipped with the KTM 250 XC-F. It was an exceptional way to end season 2024 for the versatile young Australian.
Gus Riordan: "My GNCC experience helped in the really tight, slick sections and it was a lot of fun today. I haven't raced out here for some time, so to finish off the year in WHS and on the podium, we had a good time."

2025 ATV Motocross National Championship Series Schedule Announced
MX Sports Pro Racing and the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) are excited to announce the 2025 ATV Motocross National Championship Series (ATVMX), an AMA National Championship. This year the ATVMX Series will feature 10 rounds for the AMA Pro class and 8 rounds for the Pro-Am, Pro Sport, WMX and all other amateur competitors.
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the season will open with an AMA Pro only race as they battle it out inside the World Center of Racing – Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. This event will continue to run in conjunction with the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Supercross and Daytona Vintage Supercross events. Four days later, the AMA Pro class will duke it out at a newly added venue in Fountain, Florida, for their second round of the season on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Decker Training Facility. The back-to-back Florida rounds will be a new and exciting start to the 2025 race season.
The ATVMX Series is also excited to add three AMA Pro Triple Crown races into the mix for 2025, as Decker Training Facility, Sunset Ridge MX and Briarcliff Motocross will each host a Triple Crown event this season. The Triple Crown events will feature a three-moto format for the AMA Pro class only, using the Olympic Scoring System (i.e., 1st?place = 1 point; 2nd?place = 2 points; etc.) for each moto. The rider with the Lowest Score (e.g., 1+1+1=3 if a rider wins all three motos) gets first place overall and the Finish Position points for first place (i.e., 25 points) for the race. The Triple Crown is also a championship within a championship, as the results from the three Triple Crown races at Decker Training Facility, Sunset Ridge MX and Briarcliff Motocross will be tallied to declare an official 2025 ATVMX Triple Crown Champion.
The 2025 schedule will fully kick off at Echeconnee MX in Lizella, Georgia on March 29 and 30, hosting round one for amateur, WMX, Pro Sport and Pro-Am classes and the third round of racing for the AMA Pro class. From there the series will head back to Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports in Axton, Virginia on April 26 and 27. Lake Sugar Tree is excited for the ATVMX Series to return to their facility, as they have not hosted them since the 2020 season.
The schedule will then feature some prominent rounds of racing at some of its most legendary venues, such as: Ironman Raceway, Sunset Ridge MX and Budds Creek Raceway. The Ironman ATVMX National is set to take place on May 10-11 in the MotoTown of Crawfordsville, Indiana.? Next on May 24-25 the series will head over to Walnut, Illinois for the Sunset Ridge ATVMX National where the second Triple Crown for the AMA Pro class will take place. Then, Budds Creek Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland will host the 5th round of racing for amateurs (7th for AMA Pro) on June 21-22.
The series will head to a new venue for the Fourth of July holiday weekend as Tomahawk MX in Hedgesville, West Virginia will take place July 5-6. Tomahawk MX has been running top-notch motorcycle races for many years, and it will be a great fit for the ATVMX Series to make a stop there in 2025. Then for the penultimate round of racing, Pleasure Valley Raceway in Seward, Pennsylvania will host their round of racing on July 19-20.?
The 2025 Season Finale for the ATV Motocross Series will take place at Briarcliff Motocross in Nashport, Ohio, over the weekend of August 9-10. The finale will also host the third and final Triple Crown race for the AMA Pro athletes, which will mean the 2025 ATVMX Triple Crown Champion will be crowned in Ohio. More information will continue to be released closer to each event including special events and themes for the races.

Tomac crowned 2024 WSX Champion, McElrath takes the SX2 title
Tomac claims maiden title
The CDR Yamaha Supported by Star Racing rider has been almost unbeatable in his first full season of World Supercross, and he made that abundantly clear from the very first event at the WSX Canadian GP in Vancouver.
Although it was outgoing champion Ken Roczen who took the first individual race win of the year, Tomac harried him all the way to the line and finished second on his first WSX appearance in two years.
From Race 2 at BC Place, Tomac went on a tear that saw him unbeaten for the next eight races in a row – including a stellar 1-1-1-1 clean sweep in Round 2 – that came to an end with a podium finish on day two of the Perth double-header.
Then came the 2024 WSX Abu Dhabi GP season finale, and even with a comfortable points lead to fall back on, Tomac didn’t let up. He won SuperPole at the start of the night, before going 3-2-2 in the GPs and taking a sensational SuperFinal victory, which was enough to secure the title at Etihad Arena.
WSX RESULTS: Abu Dhabi GP
Tomac has won races by over 20 seconds this season, and crossed the line first in 11 of the 16 individual WSX race starts. When you’re competing with the likes of Ken Roczen and Joey Savatgy, that’s really saying something. If any Tomac doubters remained, they have surely been silenced by his textbook, almost faultless 2024 campaign.
With his remarkable run at an end, Tomac was crowned the 2024 WSX Champion in Abu Dhabi ahead of outgoing champion Roczen and Savatgy, who, rather fittingly were two of the three men to deny Tomac victories this year.
McElrath returns to the top spot
In the 250cc class, it was 2022 SX2 champion Shane McElrath who reclaimed his crown. Like Tomac, McElrath was in fine form all season, with his imperious performances highlighting exactly why he was crowned champion the first time around.
As was the case in 450cc, the dominant force in 250cc got off to a shaky start, finishing seventh in the first Vancouver race. That would be the last time he finished outside the top three in 2024, though.
After topping the remaining three races and the overall event in Canada, McElrath streaked clear of the pack at Perth’s double-header by going 2-1-1 in the GPs on Saturday, 1-1-2 in the GPs on Sunday and winning both SuperFinals.
At the Abu Dhabi season finale, he’d go one better taking a clean sweep of GP wins and topping the SX2 class in the SuperFinal, refusing to succumb to any title pressures. McElrath signed off his season with the ultimate stamp of authority, ensuring there was no room for debate on who the rightful champion was.
SX2 RESULTS: Abu Dhabi GP
The Fire Power Honda rider may have claimed 13 of the 16 SX2 victories in 2024, but team-mate Cole Thompson and the Rick Ware Racing duo of Enzo Lopes and Coty Schock have given chase every step of the way. Schock snatched two wins from McElrath in Australia while Lopes and Thompson have been relentlessly consistent throughout the year.
After four rounds, 16 races and three continents, McElrath was named as the 2024 SX2 Champion, with Schock and Thompson taking the second and third spots in the standings separated by a solitary point.

Dust Moto Unveils All Electric Dirt Bike, Redefining Approachable Performance on Two Wheels
Dust Moto, on a mission to be the number one American moto brand globally with riding fun at its core, introduced the all-electric Hightail – punching above its weight class with 42hp and 660Nm of torque in a svelte sub-100kg package. The dirt bike delivers a radically simplified user experience, compact chassis, swappable 4.4kWh battery pack, and whisper quiet drivetrain delivering peak riding enjoyment for more riders across more terrains. Take a ride and pre-order now with a fully refundable $100 deposit for the most fun you can have on two wheels.
“Teaching people to ride an electric dirt bike is easier; they pick it up more quickly, and without the noise, a lot more riding opportunities become available,” said Colin Godby, founder and CEO of Dust Moto. “But the benefits of electric aren’t only for new riders. Suddenly, backyard tracks, urban areas, and natural sites with noise restrictions became accessible to riders that weren’t available with gas-powered bikes. The unrivaled agility and lack of maintenance means more time spent with a smile plastered across your face. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel here, just amplify the experience for more people via the benefits of electric.”
Hightail Designed and Built for Fun
Founded in 2023, Dust Moto has developed the Hightail in partnership with Bloom, a Detroit-based manufacturing platform focused on electric vehicles. The collaboration is intended to bring Dust Moto’s vision to fruition within the U.S., supporting domestic craftsmanship and production. The partnership gives Dust unprecedented access to new capacities for domestic manufacturing, assembly, delivery, and servicing in Michigan, cementing Dust Moto’s commitment to be designed and built in America.
The Hightail delivers features designed for performance and longevity equipped with a swappable 4.4 kWh battery, 42 horsepower, and 660 Nm of torque, offering riders up to two hours of continuous riding, or appx 35 miles ridden hard on a single charge. The bike’s light weight (<100kg) and compact design (2 in shorter wheelbase/less seat height than an average 250cc bike) increases maneuverability, creating a unique power to weight ratio that’s nimble, responsive, and has been described as “telepathic” to rider inputs. With a 55dB quiet (about the volume of a typical conversation voice) custom electric drivetrain, more riding locations become possible while the bike’s maintenance schedule is radically simplified. Overall, Dust Moto envisions a riding experience that is far more immersive with the rider’s surroundings, enabling a stronger connection with the bike and other riders, aiming to create the ultimate fun machine.
Pricing and Availability
In keeping with the company’s commitment to transparency, Dust Moto has taken an unconventional “build in public” approach, allowing backers and followers to view the design and engineering process first-hand. This model has cultivated a community of passionate riders who are engaged not only in the end product but in the development journey itself.
The Hightail (known previously as Model_1) is priced at US$10,950 and is now available for pre-order in the United States with a $100 refundable deposit, with initial deliveries set for late 2025. For more information on the Hightail and Dust Moto’s mission to introduce sustainable options to the power sports industry, visit dustmoto.com.
Honda to Offer New Police Motorcycle to Law-Enforcement Agencies
American Honda today revealed a new on-road motorcycle model developed exclusively for U.S. law-enforcement agencies, and available to order exclusively through the Powersports Fleet/Government Purchase Program. Based on the NT1100—the popular sport-touring model currently offered to European customers—the NT1100 Police is powered by the parallel-twin engine from the Africa Twin and comes with many of the same comfort-, convenience- and safety-focused features from the consumer-focused version of the NT1100, including a protective fairing, an adjustable windscreen, a plush seat, LED lighting and electronic rider aids. It is also outfitted with special components designed for policework, and it can be further customized with additional parts available through approved vendors.
"U.S. motorcycle units and motor officers understand the benefits that two-wheel vehicles can offer over automobiles, and we're pleased to provide a brand-new option for their fleets," said Colin Miller, Manager of Public Relations at American Honda. "One of the main advantages of a police motorcycle is maneuverability, and the NT1100 Police is unmatched in that area. It also boasts Honda's legendary reliability and value—attributes that were proven with law-enforcement agencies in the past, with the police version of the ST1300. Thanks to its light weight, nimble handling and exceptional value, the NT1100 Police promises to be a popular choice among U.S. motorcycle units."
2025 NT1100 Police
Employing the frame and twin-cylinder engine of the CRF1100L Africa Twin as a base, the NT1100 Police delivers characterful, engaging performance. Notable for its lowest-in-class curb weight, exceptional maneuverability and attractive price, this new police motorcycle also boasts features and technology that broaden its appeal. It comes standard with a host of special features developed specifically for law-enforcement agencies, including pannier bags, a wiring harness that enables easy customization, an engine guard, a rear bumper, a document box and a seat cowl. Additional components are available through approved vendors, to help individual agencies meet their own particular requirements.
New Ducati Multistrada V2: the lightest in its category
For the 8th episode of the 2025 Ducati World Premier, Ducati unveiled the new Multistrada V2, a mid-size crossover designed for fans of twin-cylinder engines. The 2025 model significantly improves lightness, handling, and ease of riding. The new Multistrada V2 keeps its 19-inch front wheel, ensuring safety and fun even on rough pavement, but it has been completely redesigned around the new twin-cylinder V2 engine, becoming even more accessible and enjoyable to ride.
Thanks to a design inspired by the pursuit of maximum lightness, focused on the monocoque frame and the new Ducati V2 engine, the Multistrada V2 is 40 pounds lighter than its predecessor. Its weight of 439 pounds (wet, without fuel) makes it the lightest in its class, enhancing maneuverability and low-speed handling, even when fully loaded. Combined with the broad power delivery of the variable-valve twin-cylinder, an advanced electronics package, and careful ergonomic and aerodynamic engineering, the Multistrada V2 transforms every ride into an unforgettable journey.
Design
The design of the new V2 draws inspiration from the stylistic concepts that have defined the history of the Multistrada family: horizontally balanced volumes, a light and short tail, and a front area characterized by sporty lines, emphasized by the side panels that enhance the front end. The shoulder surfaces, front masses, and the “beak” – historically distinctive features of the Multistrada – have been made more harmonious.
Like all Ducatis, the Multistrada V2 combines design and functionality. The Centro Stile Ducati defined its lines in close collaboration with R&D technicians to integrate aerodynamic solutions into the design, improving thermal comfort and protection from the elements.
The windshield, highly protective and adjustable in height, was developed through careful aerodynamic research that also involved the deflectors, perfectly integrated into the front design.
As on the Multistrada V4, lateral air conveyors have been introduced for thermal comfort. These upwash conveyors are integrated into the bike’s design and help direct fresh air to the rider’s legs.
The new headlights and DRL, inspired by the latest-generation Panigale and Multistrada V4, contribute to a compact and aggressive front view that is immediately recognizable. The shorter “beak” integrates seamlessly with the windshield, creating a more harmonious image. The direction indicators, thin and harmonized with the side panel design, have been completely redesigned and repositioned to offer optimal visibility and allow fresh air to flow toward the rider.
The tail is slim and light, thanks to a shorter rear grab handle that has been completely redesigned to ensure functionality and ergonomics.
Ergonomics and comfort
The ergonomics of the Multistrada V2 have been completely revised with great attention to comfort. The rider and passenger seats have been redesigned, and passenger roominess has been improved compared to the previous model regarding legroom and torso space, thanks to the repositioned top box and side case attachments.
To allow the rider to rest their feet on the ground safely, the new Multistrada V2 is equipped with a seat that can be adjusted to two positions, with heights of 33.5 and 32.7 inches. The Ducati Performance catalog also offers an accessory seat raised to 34.3 inches, and one lowered to 31.9 inches. On the S version, thanks to the semi-active DSS (Ducati Skyhook Suspension) and the Minimum Preload system, it is possible to lower the seat to 31.1 inches.
New Ducati V2 Engine
The new Multistrada V2 is equipped with the Ducati V2 engine, a 90° V-twin with a displacement of 890 cc, featuring IVT variable intake valve timing and a coil spring valve recall system. This compact and lightweight engine – weighing only 121.1 pounds – significantly reduces the bike’s overall weight. This configuration delivers 115 hp at 10,750 rpm and 67.9 lb-ft of torque at 8,250 rpm.
Thanks to variable valve timing, the V2 engine optimizes performance, power delivery, and fuel efficiency. High-rev power is combined with sustained torque delivery at low and mid-range revs: more than 70% of the maximum torque is already available at 3,500 rpm, and between 3,500 and 11,000 rpm, the torque never drops below 75%. This combines more consistent combustion at low revs, ensuring smoother power delivery at small throttle openings. The larger flywheel enhances riding comfort, especially in touring or traffic, by providing a smoother throttle response.
Finally, the gear ratios are specifically designed for the Multistrada, with shorter first and second gears to improve usability at low speeds and enhance full-load acceleration. The gearbox features the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, delivering a more precise pedal feel and faster gear changes.
Completely redesigned chassis
To enhance comfort and riding pleasure on any route, the new Multistrada V2 features a completely redesigned frame, rear subframe, and swingarm, embracing the same construction philosophy as the Multistrada V4. The frame is an aluminum monocoque that uses the engine as a stressed element, the rear subframe is a steel trellis, and the swingarm is cast aluminum. Combined with the new V2 engine, these improvements bring the Multistrada to an exceptionally low weight: only 439 pounds (in running order without fuel) for the V2 version and 445 pounds for the V2 S version equipped with semi-active suspension.
Thanks to a complete redesign and the monocoque frame solution, Ducati engineers have created a slim bike with a narrow fit, making placing your feet on the ground easier. Additionally, the contact area between the knees and inner thighs and the bike’s surfaces has been optimized, enhancing riding pleasure and control at high speeds. With its updated ergonomics, the new Multistrada V2 requires less handlebar effort to lean and delivers more neutral behavior when entering and navigating curves.
The Multistrada V2 has a Marzocchi fork featuring 45 mm tubes and a Sachs shock absorber with a progressive link, both fully adjustable. The Multistrada V2 S is fitted with semi-active suspension with Ducati Skyhook Suspension electronic control, further enhancing comfort, safety, and performance. New electronic strategies limit diving during braking (anti-dive) and reduce the tendency to “sit” during acceleration (anti-squat), ensuring precise handling.
Additionally, the Minimum Preload function allows the rear suspension to be lowered with a button, making it easier to place your feet on the ground, especially when fully loaded or riding with a passenger. As with the new Multistrada V4, the Suspension Modes can be adjusted independently of the Riding Modes, enabling riders to select their preferred suspension calibration while maintaining the same electronic control settings and engine response.
Both versions of the Multistrada V2 are equipped with a 19-inch front wheel paired with a 17-inch rear wheel, fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires, and offer 6.7 inches (170 mm) of suspension travel to ensure versatility and a superior riding experience. The Brembo braking system features dual 12.6-inch (320 mm) front discs and a single 10.4-inch (265 mm) rear disc, delivering top-tier performance.
Benchmark electronics package
The new Multistrada V2 boasts a complete electronics package, manageable via redesigned handlebar controls and the new 5” TFT color dashboard, with a completely revamped multilingual interface based on three different Infomodes.
The five available Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, and Wet) offer the possibility of adapting the Multistrada V2 to any situation, setting the engine power and response to pre-configured and modifiable values, thanks to the four Power Modes with which the engine is equipped. The Riding Modes, of course, set the cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC) to pre-defined levels, which the rider can modify.
The three Infomodes (Road, Road Pro, and Rally) allow you to make the most of the dashboard’s capabilities, changing the information displayed to offer the rider the best riding experience in every situation: Road Pro, for example, provides the percentage of power and torque used in real-time.
Finally, the Ducati Multistrada V2 is equipped as standard with Cruise Control, a USB socket integrated into the dashboard, the Ducati Brake Light EVO (which manages emergency flashing in sudden braking) and, in the case of the V2 S, the Ducati Multimedia System, with the possibility of activating the Turn-by-turn navigator accessory. Furthermore, the new Coming Home function keeps the low beams active when the ignition is turned off, illuminating the area in front of the bike and making home entry easier.
Accessories and availability
A wide range of accessories allows you to customize your Multistrada V2 to suit diverse needs.Plastic cases with a capacity of 15.8 gallons (60 liters) or aluminum cases with a capacity of 20.1 gallons (76 liters) are mounted on the bike with floating attachments to enhance stability and safety. Steel guards help minimize damage in the event of a slide. At the same time, the center stand makes maintenance and loading tasks easier.
For adventure enthusiasts, spoked wheels are available, increasing the Multistrada V2’s versatility and enabling it to tackle off-road terrain when the pavement ends. Riders wishing to enhance their Multistrada V2’s exhaust sound can choose from various options Termignoni offers.
The new Multistrada V2 will be available in two versions: the standard V2 and the V2 S, which feature DSS semi-active suspension. The standard version is offered in Ducati Red, while the V2 S comes in Storm Green or Ducati Red. Additionally, the V2 S provides an optional Travel trim, which includes plastic side cases, a center stand, and heated grips.
The new Ducati Multistrada V2 will arrive at dealerships in the United States in March 2025. Pricing for the Multistrada V2 will be $15,995 and start at $19,295 for the V2 S model in the United States.

Yamaha Motor Corporation to Welcome Dealers at AIMExpo 2025 in Las Vegas
Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. is excited to be returning to the Las Vegas Convention Center, February 5-7, for the annual AIMExpo powersports trade show. Yamaha will have some of its newest models on display, and representatives are looking forward to meeting with dealers and industry partners.
“AIMExpo clearly is the best opportunity to meet and greet business partners from all over the country, and to help set the stage for a successful selling season for the coming year and beyond,” said Yamaha’s Mike Doughty, General Manager Sales & Dealer Network Operations. “We’re also eager to show some of our newest street and off-road offerings.”
“As a longtime partner, we appreciate Yamaha’s participation and the value their leadership and presence bring to AIMExpo,” said Cinnamon Kernes, Vice President of Market Expansion at the Motorcycle Industry Council. “Showcasing new products, connecting with dealers ahead of the riding season, and taking the opportunity to discuss upcoming initiatives and share corporate values and philosophies is meaningful and necessary for a strong OEM/dealer relationship. As a show designed to allow the industry to make these key connections at the right time of year, Yamaha confirms that events like AIMExpo are more important than ever.”
One of the latest models that Yamaha will be exhibiting is the 2025 YZF-R9.
“It provides supersport levels of performance in an accessible package that caters to riders of all skill levels, and dealerships have already seen strong consumer interest in this all-new model,” Doughty said. “Whether enjoying an exhilarating ride to work or ripping a racetrack, the YZF-R9 plays both roles adeptly, all at a very attractive price point. Yamaha dealer representatives will be on hand during the duration of the show to take dealers through all the new features and benefits, which will focus on the advanced electronic suite that not only allows adjustments of rider aids systems, but also connectivity and personalization.”
Additionally, Yamaha will highlight its off-road prowess with a selection of championship-winning YZ competition motorcycles, updated for 2025, as well as the all-new Wolverine RMAX4 1000 adventure side-by-side. The Wolverine provides off-road capability, versatility, and comfort for the recreational side-by-side enthusiast, which, as Yamaha says, exemplifies its Kando philosophy of the deep satisfaction and excitement one gets when encountering something of exceptional value, quality, and performance.
Yamaha field sales staff will also be on hand throughout the three-day event to discuss the company’s Outdoor Access Initiative, focused on preserving and sustaining valuable off-road riding areas throughout the country.
“We look forward to seeing our dealers at this year’s AIMExpo and helping our valued business partners kick-start a terrific 2025 selling season,” Doughty said.
