  • Ocean carriers have initiated actions that have led to an increase in Transpacific ocean rates. In an effort to balance supply and demand, carriers are expected to continue reducing capacity through blanked sailings and service suspensions, which could stabilize freight rates but also lead to further rate increases if demand outstrips supply.


  • Lummus Technology has expanded its range of Novolen polypropylene (PP) products by introducing Novolen? EnhanceTM performance PP polymers. These new materials offer outstanding performance when blended with recycled polymers from post-industrial or post-consumer waste, with the added benefit of reducing carbon footprints.


  • Chinaplas 2023 has set a new record for the total number of visitors at its four-day exhibition in Shenzhen, China. A staggering 248,222 visitors explored the latest hi-tech plastics and rubber solutions, representing a remarkable increase of 63.16% compared to the 2021 edition held in the same venue.


  • Formosa Taiwan has informed Asian buyers of a price cut of $60-80/ton in its May PVC offers. This marks the second consecutive month of price cuts, following a reduction of $60-70/ton in April.
