ARTIST OF THE WEEK:?PIP MILLETT "Heavenly"
What kind of music would Sade be making in 2022? UK neo-soul songstress Pip Millet might be a close fit. Slightly harder beat and harder lyrics, but still peanut butter smooth. Like the 80s Queen of Smooth, Pip Millet does not have the biggest pipes, but she is not trying to compete against her multi-octave female contemporaries. Instead, she has carved out a subtle, staccato sound where she weaves in and around the backing track, casting a seductive spell on the listener. After considering a career in fashion, she switched to music, slowly gathering momentum until she was given a slot on the prestigious TV show "Later...with Jools Holland". Since then she has gone from strength to strength, releasing an EP last year and a follow-up single, Ride with Me, with Sony Records this year. If she keeps on this trajectory, she could go global. And now that Sade is officially retired (?), there is certainly room in the world for a new queen of soul.

AD OF THE WEEK: LADBROKES "Rocky"
First thing I did when I went to Philadelphia was to run up the steps in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and jumped up with my arms in the air. Just like Rocky. I wasn't the only one with this idea. A few seconds later someone else did the same thing, and apparently, this has continued ever since. This new blockbuster ad, from UK betting shop Ladbrokes, cleverly taps into our continued obsession with the City of Brotherly Love's most famous son. Taking the "Rocky's Run" scene from the 1979 Oscar-winning film, where he powers through his neighborhood cheered on by passersby, the filmmakers use all their imagination and technical wizardry to create a new version of the original. Shot in a cavernous studio in Budapest, using green screen technology, the creative team seamlessly blends a huge cast of new characters - modern sports people, drummers, horse riders, drag queens, dancers, and gymnasts - into the original footage. And of course, it is all set to Bill Conti's indelible score, which was beefed up and rerecorded at London's famed Abbey Road Studios. Fine work from creative shop neverland and director MJZ's Nicolai Fuglsig. Could be the ad of the year...

QATAR IS RUMOURED TO HAVE HIRED GLASTONBURY’S ARCADIA SPIDER FOR 2022 WORLD CUP
Glastonbury’s beloved flame-throwing arachnid will be making a surprise debut at this year’s?FIFA World Cup .
The?Arcadia spider?is uprooting from its usual home of Glastonbury Festival where the likes of?Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, and Chase & Status?performed atop it earlier this summer, and is said to be featuring amongst the action at this year’s World Cup tournament in Qatar.
The stage will be used for performances, according to a report from the?Daily Mail, who cited a “well-placed source” saying that Arcadia could be one of few areas where fans will be allowed to drink alcohol.
The 50-tonne spider was recruited by Qatar from the Bristol company, according to the publication, to aid this year’s celebrations alongside DJs and performers.

Each year, the Arcadia spider returns to Glastonbury with a slew of drum ’n’ bass favourites, high energy sets and trailblazing DJs, though no word has yet come from Qatar on any performances slated at this year’s World Cup.
With just two months until the big tournament, neither Arcadia nor the FIFA World Cup have confirmed any of these details.
