Please Do (Not) Touch
Interpreting touch in select works from our permanent exhibition VISIBLE/INVISIBLE
Wednesday, 22nd?November, 4:00 PM?(IST)? Manipal Gallery and Avanee?Foundation Gallery, Fourth Floor, Museum of Art & Photography
Join us for a special walkthrough with Khushi Bansal from the Exhibitions team as she looks at the idea of touch within the artworks featured in VISIBLE/INVISIBLE. This walkthrough will navigate both the tangible experiences of touch through tactile works and its artistic depictions, addressing themes of intimacy, yearning, violence, and division within the exhibition. VISIBLE/INVISIBLE explores the representation of women through artworks in our collection. It attempts to re-address preconceived notions of femininity and gender as a social construct through art history by providing a more inclusive understanding towards it.
