A week is a long time in publishing...
Bryce Main
Multi-genre author, mostly Crime fiction. Scottish. Been writing longer than I’ve been wearing big boy’s trousers.
At some point in 1964, British statesman and Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson allegedly uttered the following eight, often repeated, words:
“A week is a long time in politics.”
This morning almost the same thought occurred to me.
Only it wasn’t about politics. It was about publishing.
Specifically, it was about the publication of my debut crime fiction novel A Time for Dying, due to be launched next week, Thursday November 23.
The launch is taking place in the Central Library, Stockport. From 6pm to 7pm.
There may be one or two people in attendance…possibly a whole lot more. It might get a bit crowded.
A Time for Dying is about the search, and attempted capture, of a frighteningly dangerous serial killer, by an impressive team of hunters.
Amongst them, is a tough female FBI agent who is also a native American Cherokee, a Jesuit priest, a disabled female police officer, and a dedicated A.I. network called Mother. And leading them is a jazz-loving, police D.I. who stabs himself voluntarily twice every week.
They’re very unconventional, to say the least.
They’re also bloody good at their job.
So…
If damned fine crime fiction floats your boat, join my publisher, Northodox Press, and yours truly, for an hour of murderously excellent entertainment, Q&A, and maybe a wee reading.
I can promise you a tale that’s a million miles away from a conventional police procedural.
Well…maybe a few thousand.
Hopefully see you there…
