This Week on LinkedIn (Jan 13, 2023)

New year, new newsletter. ??? ??

First, some context.

I ran two newsletters throughout 2022.

One is the Substack-hosted Redefining Work Newsletter (formerly Amplify Digest). The r/Work Newsletter is a curated video recap of some of the top news, stories, and trends in all things people (see below) that runs each Wednesday.

The second was this LinkedIn Amplify Academy newsletter you subscribe to that runs each Friday (you have excellent taste in LinkedIn newsletters, btw). ??

The problem?

Frankly, there was too much overlap between the newsletters. The content felt redundant.

The solution?

Reimagine this newsletter.

A newsletter reimagined

As LinkedIn continues to grow as a content platform, it's increasingly difficult to separate signal from noise and find the high-value posts and conversations that you may want to engage with - particularly related to all things work (i.e., HR, people, recruiting, culture, talent, etc.).

I thought about where I might be able to be helpful and add value here.

One idea was to revamp this LinkedIn newsletter to help subscribers find posts and conversations they might have missed from the past week.

Last Friday, I reached out to my LinkedIn network to see if my assumption was right. 93% of you agreed.

Results of the new LinkedIn newsletter poll

Soooo....welcome to the new "This Week on LinkedIn" newsletter! (insert tiny drum roll emoji for emphasis ??).

Each week, I'll curate 10 LinkedIn posts about the world of work that are worth your time.

I plan to pilot this new format through Q1 to see if this is helpful to subscribers.

I'd love your feedback in the comments to help steer and shape the editorial direction as this newsletter evolves (and thank you!).

Now, on to this week's posts.
