A Week of Learning and Sharing at the NAMIC Commercial & Personal Lines Seminar

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the NAMIC Commercial & Personal Lines Seminar in Chicago. It was a fantastic event that brought together underwriting, product development, and loss control professionals for three days of education, networking, and industry insights.

One of the highlights for me was participating in the Insuretech Fastpitch session. I had the opportunity to speak about how mutual insurers can leverage insurtech to accelerate their digital transformation journey.

The discussion focused on mutual carriers' unique advantages when adopting new technologies. We explored how their focus on policyholder value and long-term stability positions them well to implement innovative solutions that benefit the company and its members. Mutual insurers have a strong track record of putting policyholders first, and this commitment extends to their embrace of technology. By adopting insurtech solutions that streamline processes, improve data analytics, and enhance the customer experience, mutual insurers can deliver even greater value to their policyholders.

For example, insurtech solutions can help mutual insurers automate tasks such as underwriting and claims processing, freeing up staff to focus on more complex issues and provide a more personalized service to policyholders. Additionally, insurtech can provide mutual insurers with the tools they need to collect and analyze data more effectively, which can be used to develop new products and services that meet the evolving needs of their members.
