KONGSBERG to Deliver Joint Strike Missiles to US Air Force
Our business area Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has been awarded a $70m firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract for the Joint Strike Missile, according to a statement by the US Department of Defense.
The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $208m. Work will be performed at Kongsberg, Norway, and is expected to be completed in 2027.
“We are pleased to welcome the US Air Force to the JSM user group and look forward to continue to support US defence capabilities with strike missiles from KONGSBERG,” said Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.

Developed and Tested Method to Detect Kelp Density Using Multibeam Echosounder Water Column Cata
The data are processed?into a point cloud, and various variables are derived to classify habitats using a Random Forest model. The data was acquired using?our business area Kongsberg Discovery 's multibeam echosounder EM2040C.
Results showed a 72.5% accuracy for detecting kelp density at 5 m resolution, highlighting the method's effectiveness even in areas impacted by sidelobe noise.
