Last week of December and first week of January are slow political periods with little activity. Though this is the case, many governments issue year end reports that identify policy positions companies, associations and nonprofits must remain aware of. We have highlighted many of them in the last section of this newsletter.

Many national economic offices are closed or have a reduced schedule this week. Markets are closed on Monday. However, a slew of economic data is being reported.

• US government published its 5th Open Government National Action Plan.
• Deloitte has published China’s Economic & Industry Outlook for 2023.
• Report detailing German Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy was released.
• Deloitte has published a new report on 21 April 2021, the European Commission proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and subsequently, European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) working to develop the standards.

• Jones Day has published a White Paper on ESG-related litigation trends across Europe, with a focus on climate- and environmental-related litigation.
• United Nations Climate Change has published the submitted Biannual Reports of many countries at the end of December (click on “Party Authored Reports”).
• United Nations Conference on Trade and Development has published its 2022 Trade and Development Report overview.
