H1-B Lottery Results 2023

The #H1B 2023 lottery has been completed and it appears that the overall acceptance rate was somewhere between 12-15%. This means that many hopeful lottery winners were left out in the cold again. Unless #Congress increases the cap from where it currently sits at 85,000, it appears that the chances of selection will continue getting smaller. Our H1-B visa attorneys will continue to provide guidance to any employers seeking to sponsor employees.

U.S. Visa Application Fee Increase

The Department of State has officially raised most visa application fees. The new visa application fees will go into effect starting May 30th of this year. Specifically, the #visa fee for petition-based applications such as the H, L, O, and P categories will increase from $190 to $205. Non-petition-based visa fees will increase from $160 to $185.?

USCIS Updated News - Changes to Policy Manual?

We covered a story last week where #USCIS has discontinued a rule allowing late responses on requests for evidence, notices of intent to deny, and motions to reopen or reconsider. A legacy COVID rule allowed responses to be received up to 60 days after the due date, but this will no longer be allowed. USCIS has further updated its policy manual to address instances where due dates fall on weekends or holidays. In those instances, the filing will be due by the end of the next business day. To hear more about how this may impact your case, speak to one of our licensed immigration attorneys today about your specific circumstances.?
