This Week In Food: How are you coping?
Let’s face it, a lot of businesses might not make it out of the #coronacrisis unscathed. Jobs are already being cut or pulled off recruitment sites, businesses are shutting their doors with no clear idea of when they’ll open again and VC’s are scrambling to figure out their next steps.
The tough reality is that we’re all in for one hell of a ride, and when the dust settles, the food industry landscape won’t look the same.
I’ll be the first to say that at FoodHack we’ve felt the affects of COVID-19 (that’s what happens when your business is 50% events based). But at times like this, panic won’t help.
In the midst of it all, there are entrepreneurs and businesses out there that are quickly adapting to the situation. Over the next few weeks (or until this is all over) we’ll be highlighting the stories of how different food actors across the ecosystem are adapting to the situation and the initiatives out there that are supporting food business in their time of need.
This week alone we’ve seen entrepreneurs in our Facebook group come together to find creative solutions to support one another, read stories of breweries repurposing their distilleries to make hand sanitizers and seen food tech platforms step up to support restaurants.
If you have a story you want to share with us or just tell us how your business is coping, fill out the form here. To nominate a business or entrepreneur we should interview - email me here.
