Advancing European Defence: FACT reaches first milestone
On 18-19 June, the Federated Advanced Cyber-Physical Test range (FACT) project consortium held a series of meetings in Oslo, hosted by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (project coordinator).
The FACT project aims to provide an unprecedented new European capability to test and verify the cyber vulnerability of equipment in response to the rapidly evolving and diverse cyber threats embedded in military systems. It is co-funded by the European Commission under the European Defence Fund (2022 edition).
Representatives from 19 participating entities across 15 Member States and an Associated country attended the meetings. Participants presented activities from the project's first six months and outlined the next steps.
The new Norwegian Ministry of Defence representative, Morten Calisch, gave feedback from the supporting Ministries of Defence, providing guidance to the project partners on aligning their future actions with the needs of the end users. The next end-user conference is planned for October 2024.
Jon Leistad, the FACT Project Coordinator from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, stated that the project is now well underway in preparing the first major deliverable.
