This Week in Fake Profiles
There have some worthwhile new connections. And the battery of fakes. If it were the same "Marketing Director" in a major American city (they don't mention the company) I would have little to say.
I wish actual women were this willing to grow and advance the way fake profiles are. Some have come to me through comments and responses. The ice is broken and let's see where we go from here.
There have to be two to five fake requests every week. Accepting only will lead to LinkedIn removing them later. No one cares how many connections and followers you have.
Impress people one on one. The usual warning flags arose. Shaky titles, no mutual connections, people who attended Harvard and only have seven connections, name written in all caps or all lowercase letters. Capitalize your first and last name as if your IQ were normal.
A "Woman" from Hanks Cosmetics- there is a Hank and Henry Beauty. Would she incorrectly mention her business? This was her message:
Hello Mr. how are you doing? hope you having a great weekend i was touched by your profile so i decided to text you to help me know more about our social lifestyle wish to hear from you soon
Her social lifestyle must entail run-on sentences. No one has ever been touched by my profile. No one is impressed by my skillset, working in a hot warehouse impresses no one and as for her "Social Lifestyle" that shows this site has some of the worst facets of dating sites.
I have no time for fraud. Another woman said she wanted to get together. The name of her company- she said it was in Beverly Hills. Looking it up- always research unknown connection requests- the business is in Downtown L.A. and they changed the name two years ago.
If she were a good employee wouldn't she use the "New and improved" name? She probably assumed I was horny and desperate and would be impressed that a female profile, someone I have little or no chance of ever meeting, requested to connect.
Some of the prospects require further investigation. Never shall I brag that I have hundreds of connection requests. One came from a woman recognized from second degree posts. I connected and she has a large network with mutual connections.
More importantly, she posts. If someone never posted, went to school in California and lives in Africa- people are not that mobile. If you move halfway around the world; put it in your About section because that is probably an interesting story. There is nothing interesting about fakes who want to connect impersonally.
Next week, there will be more. I love new connections. Not only do they bring new perspectives, I step up my game in case they happen to be on LinkedIn the next time I post. Occasionally the fake chicks comment. They usually disappear. With bots and AI it's hard to believe anyone is real. Most are. I am not here to collect names and if you are impressed by the work I do- not only are zero colleagues on this site, be specific.
Someone has mentioned something I said in their comment and that's the gateway to a good connection. Acting like a young, nubile woman wants to meet based on my profile sounds like spam. I have too much of that as it is.
