Secures Contract to Equip World’s First Full-Electric Offshore Vessel
Our business area Kongsberg Maritime has won a major contract to supply an integrated package of equipment for Bibby Marine’s new eCSOV, the world’s first full-electric offshore vessel.
The new eCSOV will feature the largest ever battery installation on an offshore vessel, with a capacity of 25MWh. Kongsberg Maritime’s equipment will seamlessly integrate with the battery system and optimise the use of energy on board.
Partner on a Disruptive Thermal InfraRed Imaging Satellite
UK-based SuperSharp, part of the Satlantis group, has selected Kongsberg NanoAvionics ’s MP42 microsatellite platform for a first-of-its-kind Thermal InfraRed (TIR) mission called Blue Moon.
The capabilities of Blue Moon will extend beyond that of conventional Earth observation (EO) satellites since the instrument is designed to acquire images day and night.
Effects of Climate Change in the Arctic
The pronounced effects of climate change in the Arctic are often linked to activities outside the region. This highlights the importance of raising global awareness of Arctic climate change and integrating Arctic issues into global frameworks and conventions
Our business area Kongsberg Discovery recently attended the General Assembly of the High Arctic Ocean Observation System HiAOOS in Sopot, Poland. The project aims to explore the Arctic using various instruments and methods.
