Take the Day by Jeremy Lyons
We can all admit: it has been a wild year. The market has gone up and down. AI has been all the rage and worry. Maybe you were able to capitalize on the chaos and land a new position or you had the opposite luck and got laid off (possibly more than once).
Take a few days off to rest.
2024 will be arriving soon enough and it will be a new year with new challenges to conquer. There will be new things to learn, new markets to understand, and new demands on your time.
Take the rest you need.
Remember that you are human and not a machine.
RecOpsGPT Update
Currently, it is only available if you have a paid OpenAI account until OpenAI launches their app store (which is supposedly early next year).
Articles / Industry News
Books We’re Reading:
Why? Even though interviewing is a finite game (there is a clear beginning and end, winner and losers), recruiting isn’t. It is about relationship building. I thought this book did an excellent job explaining why having an infinite mindset is important, especially in recruiting and as a job hunter.
Why? Whether people know it or not, knowledge of behavioral economics in the recruiting and RecOps space is extremely important. Like the book above, this helps explain the human behavior we see all the time.
Why? What gets lost in the data-driven recruiting push is the fact that at the end of the day, we’re dealing with humans. This is a good reminder of that and how to think about the positions/tools you use.

We’ve consolidated our list of boolean search strings for RecOps professionals to make them easier for everyone to use. Check out the list here. Again, thank you to Steve Levy for contributing so many wonderful strings and Gabi Preston-Phypers for QA help. Follow both of them for excellent boolean and sourcing content.
