KISSing under the Mistletoe by Jeremy Lyons
People probably should stop me from trying to make puns (I’m sure there is a GPT for that…) but in case it wasn’t obvious, this week we’re going to be talking about KISS. Contrary to the image, we aren’t talking about the band KISS but rather the KISS method. All RecOps folks should be familiar with this as it will help in their work.
What is the KISS Method?
KISS stands for Keep It Simple Silly (or if you want to be aggressive, Stupid). The idea, coincidentally enough, articulates the law of diminishing returns or Occam’s Razor in a simplified way because the more complex something becomes, the more likely you are to create more issues for yourself.
Why is the KISS Method important?
Everyone is hounded with constant inputs and distractions. So, if you need to convey information that is important and everyone should know, KISS helps that in the form of a TL;DR. The point is not that the rest of the information is unimportant (because usually the devil is always in the details) but the simpler you make the information to digest, the easier it is to get adoption.
When is the KISS Method important?
When distributing new information/ideas. When training new members of your team. When discussing big impacts on the company.
Where can I use the KISS Method?
In emails, documentation, training sessions, conversations, etc.
How can I use the KISS Method?
“You write your first draft with your heart, and you rewrite with your head.” ― James Ellison, Finding Forrester
Though a little bit harder to do in a conversation when you’re immediately put on the spot, when writing it is very easy. Write what you feel needs to say, then edit (you can even use a prompt like: I’m working on an email to my team to deliver important updates. I want to ensure that my message is clear and concise. Please review the following message and make the needed corrections.).
RecOpsGPT Update
Currently it is only available if you have a paid OpenAI account until OpenAI launches their app store (which is supposedly early next year).
We apologize that this is the case for the moment.

Job Search
Editor Note:?We are not sponsored by nor affiliated with any of the above-listed companies so we have no financial incentive to share these roles. We are sharing these opportunities for the community and only post roles from the company's website. We encourage possible candidates to research each one as their inclusion does not mean we support the companies or their values. Here is the list to previously listed jobs, which may or may not be available

Boolean Strings for Specific ATS Job Search
We’ve consolidated our list of boolean search strings for RecOps professionals to make them easier for everyone to use. Check out the list here. Again, thank you to Steve Levy for contributing so many wonderful strings and Gabi Preston-Phypers for QA help. Follow both of them for excellent boolean and sourcing content.
#YourNextHire?/ People Looking In the Community
What I'm Looking to Do:
Over the course of my career, I have constantly sought ways to learn and improve myself and the teams and processes I am a part of. I have built out functions, dashboards, reporting, and programs within Talent Acquisition organizations. I have filled new roles and roles that had been open for years. I like solving problems and building things that make an impact. I am open to both IC and manager roles, as the most important thing to me is having interesting and impactful work to do.
Roles I'm Looking for:
Head of TA Ops/RecOps
Sr. Program Manager - TA Ops/RecOps
