Max: My experience in applying for an apartment in a LIHTC property has been highly negative. The property is a new build and there were months of delay due to construction issues. . . As for the rent I am expected to pay, I fall in between 50 and 60 percent of the area median income but fall much closer to 50 percent of AMI, yet I must pay the higher 60 percent rate. Affordable? Reydel Santos: Veteran Housing Corp?calls for the use of Affordable Housing Land Trusts by all local, state, and federal officials to help solve the affordable housing crisis in perpetuity.
