The Week Before The IHRSA Conference Is Like The Week Before Christmas! #IamgoingtoIHRSA2020

In a week’s time the epicentre of the International fitness industry will be San Diego for IHRSA 2020! It will allegedly be a very different event to the previous 25 I have attended - less vendors in the trade show, less attendees and no hugs or handshakes. But I can hardly wait and #ImgoingtoIHRSA2020.

I attend IHRSA every year for many reasons and there are few consistent ones.

The trade show opens my eyes to new products. I’m disappointed not every supplier will be there to show off their new bright and shiny toys! I understand why and respect their decision. The Trade Show is not the only reason I attend.

IHRSA for me is really about education, catching up with old friends and making new friends over the 4 days. It’s like Christmas for me, as I’m so excited about the amazing education sessions on offer and the networking opportunities - although this year no hugs, handshakes or kisses!

In fact, with a smaller trade show I can attend more education sessions and become a better business owner and leader:

  • 100+ sessions
  • 150+ speakers
  • 4 amazing keynotes.
  • And still more than 300 exhibitors!

This education will give me the opportunity to be more more successful with greater and deeper knowledge.

I am as excited as ever to attend the IHRSA Conference and Trade Show.

By the way, I’m not going to judge on the decisions of companies or individuals not attending and I wish no-one else would.

I think it’s unfair for people to throw stones at IHRSA - the reality for them is that they’d be lambasted if they cancelled the event and they are being lambasted for running the event. Only the Board and the Team understand all the details on their decision and so we shouldn’t comment.

And for the same reason we should not judge or comment on vendors attending or not attending.

The world we live in allows us to make choices - thank goodness. Now just because that choice doesn’t match our personal choice, we don’t have the right to criticise.

As an industry we need to support everyone in our industry be respecting decisions and not publicly criticising.

Well said and there will still be lots of great innovations and “toys” there to see like eg the lateral rebound trainer from Alpha Champ GmbH or the cool reactive smart tech ROX Pro Pods from A-Champs
