Aston Martin and Arm Partner to Advance Gender Diversity and Innovation in F1

Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team and Arm have partnered to advance gender diversity in motorsport and STEM.

Arm, a leader in high-performance computing tech used in billions of devices worldwide, will support initiatives like the F1 Academy and International Women’s Day activities. Jessica Hawkins (Head of F1 Academy) will serve as an ambassador to inspire future talent and help close the gender gap.

As the team’s official “AI Compute Platform Partner”, Arm will also enhance on-track performance through advanced AI-driven systems, including pit-stop technologies and wind tunnel models. The company’s branding will feature on the AMR25 (Aston Martin’s car for 2025).

Nvidia CEO Claims Chips Are Outpacing Moore’s Law

At CES 2025, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang dropped a bold claim: AI chips are advancing faster than Moore’s Law, the traditional benchmark which predicted computing power would double every two years

Huang introduced Nvidia’s new GB200 NVL72 chip, which is 30-40x faster than its predecessors in running AI inference tasks. This leap in performance is expected to significantly lower the cost of deploying complex AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, especially in the compute-intensive test-time inference phase.

By innovating across the entire stack, from chip architecture to algorithms, Huang claims Nvidia is achieving what he calls “hyper Moore’s Law,” enabling breakthroughs in AI accessibility and performance.

Huang emphasized that Nvidia’s advancements address growing concerns about the high costs of running AI models, stating that the company’s chips are now 1,000 times more powerful than those it produced a decade ago.

AI Set to Reshape Workforces by 2030

The World Economic Forum’s latest Future of Jobs report reveals a mixed picture of the workplace future. By 2030, 41% of companies plan to downsize their workforces due to AI automation, with roles like postal clerks, executive secretaries, and payroll administrators expected to disappear the fastest.

But it’s not all doom and gloom. Nearly 70% of surveyed companies intend to hire AI-skilled workers, while 77% plan to reskill employees to adapt to new, AI-driven tasks. Generative AI, capable of producing content and designs, is highlighted as a game-changer, reshaping knowledge work and augmenting human skills.

Teaching AI to Sound Human

MIT researchers have developed an AI model inspired by how the human vocal tract works, designed to replicate real-world sounds like a snake's hiss or an ambulance siren. Using cognitive AI techniques, the model mimics how humans produce and interpret sounds, making it a bridge between natural sound creation and machine learning.

What sets this model apart is its ability to perform on par with humans in experiments, producing highly realistic sound imitations. This has potential applications in education, sound design, and improving AI virtual assistants. It could be valuable for creative industries and beyond, where lifelike sound replication is necessary.

Samsung’s AI Subscription Club

Why buy high-tech gadgets when you can rent them? Samsung’s new AI Subscription Club lets you pay a monthly fee to access AI-powered smartphones, tablets, and home appliances. Launching next month, the subscription plan also includes Ballie, Samsung’s AI-powered companion robot, which will debut in South Korea and the U.S.

This move follows Samsung’s successful appliance subscription model in South Korea, where rentals now account for 30% of sales, making advanced tech more accessible to consumers.

Unveiled at CES 2025 by Samsung Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, the program is designed to revolutionize how people access technology, offering flexibility and affordability. The subscription plan provides access to devices equipped with advanced AI features, aligning with the company’s vision for a more connected, intelligent ecosystem.

P.S. CES 2025 kicked off this week with some amazing AI-powered products, stay tuned for a CES special edition next week.

Until next time! The future awaits.
