Looking Ahead

Traders were cautious ahead of this week's key events. Some commentators credited the unwinding of the "Trump trade" for today's decline as new polling data suggested a tighter race than thought. In our view, investors were generally cautious over the election and the upcoming Fed decision.

The Fed is widely expected to cut rates by 25 basis points on Thursday, but weak jobs numbers reported last Friday may provide impetus for a deeper cut. Investors will closely follow Fed Chair Powell's comments after the decision.??

We remain positive on financial markets and will closely monitor this week's developments.
