  1. M&A - Stratasys received a purchase offer from 3D Systems; in previous chapters, Stratasys rejected a purchase offer from Nano Dimensions and announced a merger with Desk Top Metal.
  2. Glass - researchers have developed a method for 3D printing optical glass at low temperatures that allow the creation of transparent nanostructures of fused silica glass at only 650 degrees Celsius.
  3. SLA - Researchers from Edinburgh have developed a new 3D printing technique that changes the SLA process by using near-infrared light to a layer depth of up to 50 mm for the 3D printing of complex structures with multiple materials and colors.
  4. Founding - Fortify, which produces 3D printing systems, raised $12.5 million from Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Technologies
  5. Safety - UL Research Institute issued safety guidelines for the first time for the operation of 3D printers in study and research centers and student homes.
  6. Metal - Researchers from RMIT University and the University of Sydney have developed a strong and flexible 3D-printable titanium alloy that contains oxygen and low-cost iron as the primary alloying element.
  7. Metal - Polish printer manufacturer Zortrax has announced metal printing capabilities to print pre-sintered metal in the M300 dual-head filament printer.
  8. Metal - Laser manufacturer NUBURU and printer manufacturer Essentium have announced a collaboration to create a 3D metal printer based on a blue laser.
  9. Software - Metal printers company SLM Solutions and the software company from Israel - Assembrix, announce extraordinary progress in secure remote printing. Both companies are now taking the next step to ensure enhanced safety and complete protection of customers' intellectual property (IP).
  10. Crowdfunding - Canadian Concepts3d launched a crowdfunding campaign for an LCD resin printer equipped with a force sensor that alerts in the event of a malfunction during printing
