  1. Acquisitions - Nano Dimension announced its intention to acquire the American company Desktop Metal for $183 million.
  2. Industry News - Shapeways, one of the largest online 3D printing service providers in the world, has filed for bankruptcy.
  3. Technology - Purdue University researchers have created an affordable method for printing high-resolution parts using two-photon polymerization and two lasers.
  4. Large format - Studio Kite, an Australian company, introduces the Studio Kite, a large-scale polymer printer with a 3D printing volume of 2.6 x 2.6 x 3.6 meters, a heated chamber up to 80 degrees, and a printing speed of up to 25 kg of material per hour.
  5. Large format - PioCreate 3D, a 3D printer manufacturer owned by Creality, offers two large printers: the G12 Pellet with a print volume of 1x1x1.2 meters and the G5 with a print volume of 500x500x400 mm. Both printers use plastic granules as their feedstock.
  6. Software - ORNL researchers have introduced Slicer 2, a 3D printing slicer software specifically designed for large format printers.
  7. FDM/FFF - Creality has released the K2 Plus, a color filament printer with a closed chamber, 350x350x350 print volume, and the ability to print in 16 colors, priced at $1,500.
  8. Technology -?Researchers have developed a new method for detecting defects in 3D-printed components using machine learning.
  9. Technology - Researchers have combined three printing techniques into one machine, which enables the printing of parts from multiple materials, including metal and polymers.
  10. Industry News - BASF is exiting the 3D printing field and transferring all activities to a new company, Forward AM. This company combines the polymer materials for printing activity with the Sculpteo service bureau.

Very sad Shapeway filing for bankruptcy, another fatality of secondary support companies not producing innovative new procedures in post-process that will produce suitable components for certification in many industral applications.
