  1. Software - Hexagon has acquired the Geomagic 3D scanning software suite from 3D Systems for $123 million.
  2. Metal?-?Germany's a-metal has launched a compact, low-cost powder-bed laser printer with a print volume of 150 x 150 x 150 mm.
  3. Medical - BioSapien raises $5.5 million to advance 3D-printed drug delivery with MediChip, which can be attached to any tissue with minimal side effects.
  4. Polymers - RAHN, a Swiss polymer company, has announced its entry into the 3D space as a manufacturer and supplier of photopolymer materials.
  5. Food - Researchers use plasma to 3D-print pea protein
  6. Industry - Chinese printer manufacturer Farsoon has inaugurated a new 3D printing plant of 140,000 square meters.
