Move For Amirah:
What's up:
We're in the midst of our second annual Move for Amirah!
"Move for Amirah is a national fundraising event in which individuals or teams "Move" on behalf of survivors of trafficking and exploitation. Recovering from trafficking and exploitation is hard, like swimming the English Channel or running a marathon. We "Move" in solidarity with these women. Join this year's Move for Amirah to call attention to their courage and raise funds for their recovery journey!"
The empatiX take:
We believe spreading awareness and raising money for this incredible cause is so crucial. Helping survivors everywhere feel safe and supported and be able to heal and recover is incredibly important. After seeing firsthand the impact of human trafficking in various communities, we knew that it was something we wanted to stand up for. A core value of empatiX is to advocate and provide support for causes we believe in (a reason why empathy is in the first part of our name)!?To join us, you can visit our fundraising page.

Beaming with Pride:
What's up:
This weekend marks the end of a month of Pride with celebrations and parades planned around the country, many with a focus on diversity among queer and trans youth. ??
The empatiX take:
A few of our favorite Pride initiatives of the year include Ugg, who teamed up with LGBTQ+ TikTok interviewer?David Burleson to promote their new all-gender footwear and clothing line in pride-inspired rainbow prints. They also donated $125,000 through their "Feel Seen. Feel Heard." campaign by partnering with the Trevor Project to support mental health services for LGBTQ youth. The brand Coach announced their "Courage to Be Real" Campaign, which will make donations to many LGBTQ+ partners as well. They also created a collection that includes Coach bags and sneakers, combining their classic logo with pride flag-inspired colors. Finally is Casetify, a phone case brand that will also donate $5 for every purchase of their pride-themed cases to The Laurel Foundation. LGBTQ+ artists create their cases to inspire others to use their creativity in a meaningful way.
While some brands experienced backlash against their support for Pride, the numbers show that most consumers are overall excited about brands' support of LGBTQ+ communities.
"a quarter of Americans?say that they’re more likely to shop from LGBTQ-friendly brands, and over 80% are likely to try new products from brands that actively support LGBTQ communities as opposed to ones that don’t." (Rolling Stone).
