Week 6 Unwrapped: The final week at the #FutureDriven Experience Pop-up centre!

This week at the #FutureDriven Experience Pop-up, we hosted young girls for an afternoon of fun STEM activities and discussed upskilling and reskilling to address labour shortages and train future workers.

Check out the highlights from this week below!

Encouraging STEM education opportunities for young girls

On Saturday, we teamed up with greenlight for girls to host 50 young minds for an inspiring STEM event! The girls explored #FutureDriven exhibits, got hands-on with experiments, and dived into the world of STEM—powered by the automotive industry.

A remarkable team of women serving as ambassadors for the day inspired and empowered young minds throughout the event.

Heartfelt thanks to Andrea Lazcano , Ann Heylen and Alexia Bari from Toyota Motor Europe , Marion Lorieul and Olivia Bibrac from 雷诺 , and Dana Adriana Puia Morel, PhD from the European Commission .

The next generation workforce: skills for Europe's zero-emission journey

The automotive industry is undergoing a digital and green transformation, reshaping Europe's labour market.?To tackle labour shortages and prepare future workers, upskilling and reskilling are key.

An expert panel and dynamic audience joined the discussion on how we can shape the future of skills, for the future of Europe!

ACEA president unveils input for EU automotive industrial plan; including a simplified regulatory framework

ACEA President Luca de Meo presented our contribution to the envisaged EU Automotive Industrial Plan, including a simplified regulatory proposal, at a press conference at the #FutureDriven Experience Centre.

This vision is focused on three key pillars:

1. implementing a strong EU Industrial

2. creating conditions for a self-propelling market-driven transition to zero-emission mobility

3. reducing administrative burden and simplifying legislation.

The proposal for a simplified regulatory framework includes:

1. grouping all regulatory requirements affecting the automotive industry into batches

2. regulating the future, not the past, and;

3. create a one-stop shop/taskforce to conduct industry-specific impact assessments and consistency texts of new laws.

You can watch the press conference here.

In case you missed it…

Rewinding 6 weeks

And that's a wrap on the #FutureDriven Experience Pop-up! Over the past six weeks, we were thrilled to welcome over 1,000 visitors and host more than 30 events. From opening our doors to the public to delivering engaging STEM workshops, our goal was to inspire and spark curiosity in everyone who joined us.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited, attended an event, spoke on a panel, or supported the European automotive industry in this initiative. We could not have done this without the unwavering support of ACEA members and commitment to realising this ambitious project. It was an honour to share this experience with you all!

Pressing pause. What’s next?

We’re taking a short break with the Rewind newsletter over the holiday season but will return in the new year recharged and ready! In the meantime, we wish you a joyful and rejuvenating holiday season!
