Welcome to the second week of 2025! We hope your transition into the new year has been smooth.

This week, we reflected on our achievements in 2024 and shared a short article authored by our director, Marius Dragomir. On top of that, we’re excited to celebrate a major milestone: our expert, John Masuku, has published his memoirs!

• Minna Aslama Horowitz contributed to the first global assessment by the Observatory on Information and Democracy, a key initiative of the Forum sur l'Information et la Démocratie . The observatory has just released its inaugural report, titled “Information Ecosystems and Troubled Democracy.”

• Our director, Marius Dragomir , wrote a recap of 2024, a year of growth, learning, and achievement at Media and Journalism Research Center .

• Emma Briant published an article for Index on Censorship looking into Donald Trump's plans to implement measures aimed at reducing the influence of universities and penalizing so-called “woke” ideologies.

• John Masuku released its memoirs and chronicles the history of broadcasting in Zimbabwe, tracing its evolution from the colonial Southern Rhodesia era to post-independence developments.
