Week 5 of the 2022-’23 NFL Season Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings; Noon
Week 4 synopsis;
The 2022-’23 Chicago Bears MUST begin with a capital “I” for intensity! A lot of our malfunctions could have easily been detoured. To start off, we need to throw to other WR’s than Mooney. Granted he’s a key standout, we need to be more under the radar!
What I mean by that is, utilize a sneaky avenue of play calling! For instance, if you continuously call the same pass pattern, pass to the same receiver or more so, desperately resorting to only the running game! They’ll pick it up and adjust accordingly unlike, last game against the Giants; we got burned continuously and tremendously by the boot. There should have been red-flags in the mind of the DC but, there wasn’t. Time after time they projected the ball in scoring position or evidently just scored off it in general.
We need a more diverse play calling selection; it’s easily picked up what approach we’re trying to establish. We need constant key protection for Fields, he needs more time to find the most abled wideout. And, that comes with both acute protection and having a lengthen duration of leading the Offense spent! Remember, we’re rebuilding….
Secondly, we must play with more aggression. Yes, I know majority of the rules are against it but, you still can be aggressive without breaking rules! You can race to the ball, displaying ruthless unstoppable emotions? There’s never been a rule exclaiming; you can’t scare the ever-living shit out of them.
Yes, I understand it’d be hard to scare a big 6’7 tackle, that weighs 300 LBS but, they do say those big ole linemen are all brawn no brains? So perhaps, you can win mentally by, not showing fear? That you may be only a 6’2 LB but, your technique will overpower his size. Be a psychology interrupter?
A lot of football goes back to a psychology stand-point. If you’ve read my articles, you’d understand when I talk about, winning the mental approach by being first to land points on the board? In a way, football can be overtaken by mental strength opposed to physical strength.
For example; I was a 5’7 173 LBS. SS, I didn’t have the body mass to my advantage. But what I did have is the, ruthless endurance, a body chilling “pop” or tackle and technique to outlast a 6 ft 200 LBS’s leg pummeling leg strength of, an RB; from Glenbard West or Downers Grove South. See size is meaningless when scaling against technique and effort exerted.
3rdly; too this has been an issue that needs adjustment for some time now, when making the tackle; just don’t try and push them out of bounds with a chip of your shoulder! We must wrap him up and plow him to the ground. Yes, I already know you’re strong but, SO IS HE! Interlock your arms around his torso with, your head up and DRIVE TO THE GRASS. ?
The outcome of last match-up, should have been in our favor! Live and learn, there’s 18 weeks in football for a reason. Not looking back now, it’s another week, another opponent.
Week 5;
We finally get to play another conference foe other, than Green Bay. The Vikings beat the Packers, at their own house. And we got spanked by Green Bay so in a nutshell, we’re going to have to bring everything we can.
We must show we’re in it to win it by, starting fast and retaining that composure all 4 quarters. We must find a balance of play calling, it’s who has a diverse play calling selection, usually comes out victorious, majority of the time!
Perhaps, we could have simultaneous hook routes ending in a deep post? After the running game perhaps, we could resort in having a go route and, with Monty in full participation in practice, this could be plausible? Every team by now knows, we’re dependent on our run game. So, why not start the game off with a deep corner to St. Brown or Monty? Let’s throw the off of our usual play book and let’s start off quick while, not lightening up!
Cousins has been an elite against Chicago the last couple of years. I want there to be an incentive for Eddie Jackson, to resume having an INT. a game stature. (Hopefully from Justin Jefferson ha-ha, and then Jackson do his endzone celebration.) Too if Cousins is pre-occupied with avoiding Jackson, it’ll leave room for Roquan Smith and co. to wreak havoc! Feed off each other’s accomplishments is quite simply declaring; you’re working as one. And when that happens in football, you win as a team! Its why teamwork has GREAT payments in football.
The Bears should’ve been practicing more boot coverage in practice. We’re getting walked all over because that reason. It’s obvious the Vikings studied our malfunctions from the last game. With that being an issue after simultaneous games, Minnesota wins the mental leverage; Minnesota 7-0.

Because the inadequate route by Mooney, Bears only get a field goal on the board; 7-3, Minn. We need to bring more pressure from the D-line. Because we’re faltering in that; Cousins has to much time to drop back. There should be more outside backer blitzes. Our D-line needs to come alive with boxing Cousin’s in. Ro, are you sucking some water? If so, WHY? You’re not in this game, that’s for certain.
Minnesota to add a 6- point increase to their score by, having Dalvin Cook run outside the box, into the endzone; 14-3 Vikings. We MUST wake up Bears! We’re going to fly home unsatisfied if, we don’t start performing. Fields must throw properly to how the WR displays his hands.
Not over or under throwing. This is the NFL those QB fundamentals should’ve been learned back at Ohio State! These simple mechanics should have been mastered by now. We’re doomed if, that’s not corrected. If any observant coach witnessed this, they’ll fine tune their team accordingly.
This is now humiliating, Min. runs for a TD; 21-3 Minn. You never quit in football. Things can instantly change in your favor. Can the Bears coaches answer me this; why the hell are resorting to running the ball when you’re down this much?
Perhaps, it’s time we calling Siemian into action? Fields just isn’t cutting it this season. Did the Bears get stooped into believing so highly of Fields? Why is every QB that comes to Chicago a disaster? I heard the new place to have your QB die is Chicago. The more I think of that scenario the more I believe it.
Mooney had the hell of a one-handed catch on the 10-yardline going to Minnesota’s endzone! Monty with a run for 6 for Chicago; 10-21 Vikings. This is still a game Bears, don’t lighten up your steam. It’s doable Bears, take advantage of miscues.
We get the ball back first Chicago. Let’s fine tune our assignments 2nd half and start off with a bang, they won’t be expecting it. They assume, we’ll still be the slumber Chicago Bears. Now’s the time you show your heart in your team. Winners never quit and quitters bever win. See this game through to the final whistle. Regardless we’re down at the moment NEVER lose composure!
And Bears nail a TD with a failed 2-point conversion; Vikings 21-16. I’ll give it to coach Flus for having a pair. Bears also attempt an onside kick but, fail. The defense needs to come alive! Our coverage on D is horrendous. Chicago lets resume not allowing a 2nd half TD all year. Even the Bears block an attempted field goal!
See, we come alive 2nd half. This this isn’t plausible efforts of a championship worthy team but, I’ll take it. Like how score doesn’t matter if you win by 2 TD’s or field goal; because truthfully, a win’s a win. Chicago to go for it on 4th down and get the first and, a few more yards. Bears to nab a field goal; 21-19 Vikings.
?That’s it Bears! Minn. got a 1st down off a holding on the defensive side by the Bears. Karma then swiftly smacked the Vikings square if the face. Turns out the next play, Cousins threw a pick! Bears it’s time now to capitalize off that INT.! This is how teamwork is established. Da Bears get a 51-yarder by Santos; 22-21 Bears! A 1- point lead’s meaningless but, it’s still a lead.
Cousins with a QB keeper on the goal-line for 6. Aside the TD, they go for 2 and obtain it. Score now; 29-22 Minn. Just Fields prove why you’re QB1. Prove your existence for the doubters.
With poor ball mechanics Bears are stripped and the ball control goes to the Vikings. Bears fall to 2-3 with Vikings coming out with 4-1. Overall, we need work Bears, end of story!
Final: Bears 22 Vikings 29 ?
