Week 49 - Trust the Timing

When I look back on my 13 year career and 30+something life experience, the moments of deep transformation come when I trust the timing.
Career pivots, relationships, health & wellness goals, becoming a yoga teacher, accidentally or otherwise serendipitously, learning how to teach reformer Pilates, speaking at conferences or most recently, finishing a deeply meaningful professional certificate at NYU....
I set the goals, trusted the process, overcame obstacles but most importantly, trusted the timing and unfolding of it all.
Trust is something we struggle with on a human level, especially the trust within ourselves.
I encourage you to leverage the month of December to reflect upon your own self-beliefs and inner blocks.
Recently, I have attended a weekly yoga workshop on Sundays led by a former IBM executive and 500-hour yoga teacher named Jane. She is the epitome of who I aspire to be, a key contributor to the business world and a 70 something who can hold a high plank with ease.
As many of us begin to explore a season of reflection with end of year and turn to set goals for 2025, I encourage you to take 2 steps to support you in trusting the timing.
- Write down your goals - make them meaningful and measurable. I have an 18 minute video of this process as part of my completion of a Learning Technology & Tools course at NYU. Message me if you'd like to receive it. For me, I like to write down every goal and circle the top 1-2 with the most charge or that would make the biggest difference for me long-term.
- Make daily activities part of your habits. Time blocking is helpful, yes. But if you begin to chip away at your goal with a supportive activity each day, you will make progress towards it. When I was in a client-facing sales role, we learned about revenue generating activity. Even if you do not have a quota or have never been in sales, focus on the somewhat uncomfortable activities that help move you towards solving a client need with your solution (consulting, technology, or services).

If you do those 2 things, you will be supported to TRUST THE TIMING. Your efforts will be filled with ease. You will find yourself ruminating less or stressing about the past, but more importantly building a future in the present moment.
Message me if you want access to the recording of the workshop, Reinvent Your Life: How to Create Measurable and Meaningful Goals.
If you stay active, trust the process, and give yourself room to grow, you will find that Trusting the Timing becomes a natural dance to your professional process.
Forward motion, now and always.
