Your Hero Journey

Last week, I recorded a short conversation with my dear friend Caroline Myss, about our new program on Your Hero Journey .

Caroline and I are both big fans of Joseph Campbell’s work on The Hero Journey. Caroline wrote about the hero journey in her bestseller Sacred Contract, and I wrote about it in Higher Purpose .

In our conversation, both Caroline and I speak about how Joseph Campbell’s work has helped us to honour our sacred contract and live our higher purpose.

Caroline and I are both very grateful to Joseph for the work of the Hero Journey, and are excited to be sharing our brand new Your Hero Journey program.

If you are new to the work of Joseph Campbell and the Hero Journey, here is a short review. Firstly, the Hero Journey is an invitation to follow your soul’s highest calling.

The Hero Journey has three Acts. Act 1 is The Departure. To begin, you have to be willing to let go of your old plans and follow the BIG plan for your life.

Act 2 is The Initiation. On your Hero Journey you travel along a Road of Trials. There will be tests and challenges. Where you fall is where the treasure is.

Act 3 is The Return. You take the Hero Journey for yourself and for everyone else too. You bring home gifts to share with others.

We are all on a hero journey. The journey is about saying a hearty YES to the soul’s high adventure. Here’s one more quote from Joseph: “Find a place inside where there's joy, and the joy will burn out the pain. Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.”
