Week 42 - A New Path Forward
Jessica Valentine Nelson
Making the workplace one where people are productive, inspired, and enabled to create positive change.
As years of education and experience accumulate on your professional path, it is natural to experience peaks, valleys, and plateaus within your career.
I find that the periods where there is a void or plateau our often the birthplace of our next breakthrough.
Work week 42 calls us to define a new path forward.
Whether it is overhauling your mood, attitude, or mindset....seeing where your time and efforts can be best spent... or easing into a new rhythm or work flow without a clear vision of the next phase...
We are not always meant to know, we are meant to wonder and take small steps on a new path forward.
Two years ago I began gardening on a 20 ft x 20 ft garden plot, 400 square ft of dirt beneath my feet. I found landscaping rocks on Facebook marketplace for $25, and with a pile of rocks and an open plot, it was up to me to design the path(s) within the garden space. The benefits of a path in a garden space is to not disturb root systems from the seeds you freshly plant.
Similarly, it is time to design paths in your career.
You don't always have to KNOW what's next, but if you get quiet and still, and drop into your heart center, you can began to sense what is true for you.
Many of us are trained or conditioned to simply get in action in order to get the outcome we wish to create. I am a believer in aligned action that feels more purposeful. It's okay to discover, how a sense of adventure, and procure the intention that feels best for your spirit.
If you haven't outlined the next path in your career, I encourage you to consider creating your own GROWTH GUIDE. A 90-day purposeful professional development toolkit to amplify your skills, education, and experience. Message me if you want this free resource, launching Friday, October 18.
Take care, be kind, find (and create) a new path forward.
