Week 4 ?? ????♂? ??

Week 4 ?? ???♂? ??

Lately, I’ve been dabbling with an idea, if you’re a hiring manager or a job seeker, let me know if you find it interesting in the comments or PM me ???

I want to create a place where hiring managers can check out job-seeking UX professionals through CPHUX. I imagine creating a ‘card’ that could be promoted on social media or in a newsletter with a sneak peek of a job seeker. Then having a profile with more concrete information about the person's skills and what they’re looking for.?

I wanna understand what hiring managers want to know about a person to make them wanna reach out if they have an open position but don’t wanna go through a full hiring process??

What do job seekers wanna tell hiring managers? Perhaps they have preferences on what type of company they wanna work at. Where in the country? Etc..?

Reach out if you’re interested in seeing this become reality and perhaps even contribute to it ???

Monday?

I defied the rain and went to “baby salmesang” at the local church. I’m not religious but find the singing and guided sensory activities like a fun break.?

I had a meeting with Giorgia Meton and we went through the last steps of her employment at CPHUX. February is the last month we will have her and if you are looking for a digital designer she comes with my warmest recommendation.?

I strongly believe we should always give back to science and research so when Kai Roland Green invited me to be an interviewee for his research on entrepreneurs who are mothers, I couldn’t say no. It was fun to reflect on my journey and opinions through his interview. It made me realize that although society values money above all, I’m goddamn proud of the community I’ve built and all the cool people who are a part of it.?

My niece Cecilia Alejandra Ramón Larrosa (who’s a grown woman) met me at Olivia’s daycare and joined us for a lovely dinner. She is such a bright and clever mind. I always learn something in her company and that’s not a common thing. Walking her to the bus stop I got Victor to fall asleep. This was one of the first nights we’d had as a couple and we spent it doing work and research on how to rebuild our house ????♀?

Tuesday

Since we bought a house at the end of July last year we’ve never actually used the top floor. We wanted to tear down a wall and that project just escalated. After getting another family member we decided to hire some professionals for the job. This morning I started discussing power outlets, doors, and panels with our carpenter.?

Suddenly we were in a hurry to catch the train to the central station and I had to run with Victor in the stroller. I’ve luckily been picking up on my running since giving birth, so it felt more like a nice little energy kick than dying (I vividly remember the first time I had to run a full minute. It was the hardest and longest minute of my life. Now I can laugh at how poor my running shape was back then)?

I met up with a long-time member of CPHUX, Anne Chan which was so lovely.?

I heard about her time at ?rsted, how she enjoys the fast pace of the agency life, and how she is looking for new leadership opportunities (snatch her while you can ??)?

After a drink and a slice of bread, we walked down Vesterbrogade. We past the Lazy Sundays studio and quickly popped in for a hug from Nicky Grunfeld whom I’ll be visiting on Friday YAY.?

After saying goodbye to sweet Anne, I went up and visited my dear friend Janus Nielsen. It’s his birthday on Thursday so I pre-surprised him with flowers. I don’t buy enough men flowers…?

We went for a walk and talk. I love walking and talking with Janus because we always have honest and interesting conversations.

After returning home I had a call with Natasha Potashnik who is developing an app to help people choose happiness in their lives. She was looking for a UI designer and I shared some tips on how she the quickest could convey her visual dream to a visual person. I explained that the UX profession is a job title jungle. I explained my “4 mindsets of UX” model and how she should ensure that she got the right person for the job.?

Then I rolled over to pick up Olivia. Her and Victor had a screaming competition back home in the car. I joined in for a while just to mess with them. At first, were they surprised, then they just continued ????

Wednesday?

It’s a special thing to wake up at the screams of your daughter while your husband with panic in his voice is pleading her to lie still because otherwise, her poop will get all over the place… I hurried in and helped with the diaper change so no accidents happened that morning. I helped get them ready and out of the door.?

Victor slept until 9 and then we got up and had breakfast. Around 10, we started getting ready to leave for our mother’s group.?

Every Wednesday we take turns visiting each other and the host prepares some food and other nice things.?

Again did we have a great, vulnerable, and honest session. It’s so special to have such a safe space to share all the troubles, challenges, and insecurities we might have with each other. Hearing other's perspectives and being able to support one another.?

Returning home, Victor was sleeping in the stroller so I continued my ‘Dandelion exterminator mission’ while catching up with my mom. We talked about ‘emotional incest’ and how I think almost every parent at some point does this to their child in a weaker or stronger degree. During my leadership course in the fall, I realized that I had more emotional baggage from my childhood than I was aware of. I wonder how much power this has over me today, which I’m unaware of. Haha and how badly I’ll damage my kids despite all my good intentions.?

Thursday?

Victor and I chilled at home. Did some gardening until it was time for his swimming class.?

My cousin called and we had a chance to catch up. She recently had a new baby and bought a house. I’m excited to visit them next week ??

After the dinner and tucking-in show, I had an evening meeting with Zdeněk Pa?ek. He had created a new notion database for us to get an overview of our work and progress. We went through the upcoming and it felt good to be on top of his workload.?

Friday?

I packed Victor up in our Christiania bike and headed towards Vesterbro to visit Nicky Grunfeld, Daniella Bell and Carli Hyland who are the owners of Lazy Sundays. If you ever need a brand studio, this is the place to go. With Carli on brand, Dani on content, and Nicky on digital, they’re a power trio!?

I crossed the city in the pouring rain to join my co-moms for a mommy workout ????

Olivia’s daycare called to tell me she was a bit off. Usually, she’s a little power woman but today she had a short fuse with the other kids and refused to nap.?

When I got home Lars was already there which was amazing because we could then “uninstall” the kids with no fuss.?

We had 5 types of leftovers and Olivia fell asleep in record time. We tried several times to get Victor to sleep, in the end we gave up and everyone went to bed.?

Saturday?

We slept into around 8-9 ?? but waking up to a toothless little baby is one of the best things I know.?

We had breakfast together, got ready, and went off to visit Lars's mom. She suggested that we popped by his brother's new house which we did. It’s a newly built house and the renovation broke the previous family who lived there. Can you imagine building your dream house, and in the process, your family breaking under the pressure. Moving out, and passing on the house that broke your marriage. Heartbreaking, but my brother-in-law got a dope house from it…?

Going back to my mother-in-law, we had lunch and started working. For Christmas, we gave her “4 workdays” where we would come and help her with practice things.?

We moved a TV bench and two large plants down and got them on marketplace so she could get rid of them. I took down a dead fairy light in her driveway. We sorted an Ikea bag full of CDs into plastic, paper, and common waste.?

Coming home for dinner we sorted small practical things for Sunday.?

Sunday

It's my good friend Sally Gregersen's birthday and my gift to her was organising a birthday surprise for her based on some value keywords and a guestlist she provided. It was at her amazing apartment on Island Brygge with a view of the harbour. Everyone brought something to the party. One some welcome bubbles, one a cake, one some fruit snacks, I had baked some cookies and brought a small G&T bar. Besides that, we did 3 rounds of appreciation, where each person had to give her a compliment verbally which was written down on a post-it for her to keep for a rainy day.

One of the words Sally gave me was exciting, but with small children in the background I knew I had to come up with something great. I reached out to my good friend Pavel Bavtra ?? who is a Mafia expert and ask for advice on how to host a game. He did not only write me a "how to" but did also make me a video, so I was in great hands. We only got to play two games, but it was a lot of fun and the last round did the citizen find and killed the mafia in the 2nd round ??

I love celebrating birthdays. It's such a unique day where we have the opportunity to focus in on one person and celebrate that human. Now that's delightful!

Very interesting idea. A friend of mine took part in this scheme where job-seekers wrote the job-post for their dream job and employers matched with them based on that. Not sure how successful it was but was a great exercise for the job-seekers.
