Nordelaia | Opens July 2021

ITALY: Taking us “Inside The Stylish New Hotels Putting The Spotlight On Piedmont” Forbes directs us to this beautiful boutique hotel with “sensitively crafted interiors”. In Italian wine country Piedmont, Nordelaia is one of “The most extraordinary new hotels opening in 2021”, writes Ianthe Butt in The Independent . Taking an 800-year-old farmhouse, These White Walls - the British design studio behind the “award-winning interiors” (Forbes ) of HIDE in Mayfair - have turned it into a 12-room boutique hotel “with a restaurant overseen by chef Andrea Ribaldone” (The Independent ). Set within “five hectares of gardens” (Forbes ), the hotel produces “its own wines” (Forbes ), has an outdoor pool, a spa in the vaults and glass-fronted relaxation rooms. A stay here is all “about connecting with nature” says Forbes , in an “informal but luxurious setting”, overlooking the vine-covered hills.

Our favourite feature: Lovely and lived-in interiors, in picture-perfect Piedmont.

Kimpton St Honoré Paris | Opening 23 August 2021

FRANCE: Kimpton, “the first true boutique hotel brand” in the United States (HospitalityNet ) is “set to make a big splash” (The Points Guy ) with its first property in France. Luxury Parisian department store, Samaritaine de Luxe, emerges from a “€750 million makeover” (Vogue ) and InterContinental Hotels Group’s boutique luxury brand will have a 149-room hotel within it. Behind the building’s original 1917 facade, "impossibly chic" (Travel Curator ) interiors by Charles Zana are inspired by 1930’s Art Deco and each room has “the feel of a chic Parisian apartment” (The Points Guy ), with balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows. Set “within the city’s culturally rich Opéra District” (Forbes ), it’s "Our Favorite Hotel in Paris" says Travel Curator . For added luxuries look to the California-inspired restaurant, spa, indoor swimming pool, “in-room yoga mats” (Forbes ) and 360-degree views from the rooftop bar and garden providing “beautiful vistas of the City of Light” (The Points Guy ). Kimpton is also opening hotels in Sydney, Bali and Mallorca, joining the brand’s 60 or so properties in the United States.

Our favourite feature: Parisian chic from the original American boutique hotel brand.

The Bradley Hare | Opened June 2021

UK: Local produce, zero waste and “a pocket-sized beauty salon” (The Telegraph ) in the ‘Potting Shed’ help put The Bradley Hare on House & Garden’s “travel editor’s wishlist this summer”. The Times notes the Soho House connection at this new “cool pub with rooms” on the Duke of Somerset’s Wiltshire estate. James Thurstan Waterworth, former design director at Soho House, has joined hospitality entrepreneur Andrew Kelly and has put Ben Jones, who spent “four years as restaurant manager at Babington House” (The Times ), in charge. All 12 rooms at this “super-smart country inn” (The Telegraph ) have “well-chosen antiques” (The Guardian ) and “cool, contemporary-classic interiors” (The Telegraph ). “Of all the new UK hotels to open this summer”, says The Boutique Handbook , “this is the one we’re most excited about”.
