Week 3: The Morning Focus Meeting — Towards Uninterrupted Production

After two weeks of improvements—starting with Continuity of Supply in Week 1 and implementing the Buffer Stock Management System in Week 2—last week in our first planned production week we encountered production stops.

We needed to use 54% of the in-house buffer stocks to meet customer call-offs

To avoid recurring disruptions, to get and to keep all departments focused, communicating and aligned to keep the production line moving seamlessly we’re implementing the Morning Production Focus Meeting, and it’s going to drive a culture shift across the factory.

Here’s how it works:

?? Short, Sharp, and Focused (20 Minutes Max) Each morning, every department will gather to answer 3 key questions:

  1. Did we meet yesterday’s commitment? If not, what went wrong?
  2. What’s the biggest risk today? Is there anything that could halt production?
  3. What’s the commitment to ensure the line keeps running? Everyone is responsible for solving the problem before it impacts production.

Every department plays a crucial role, from Purchasing ensuring raw materials arrive on time, to Engineering keeping machines running smoothly, and Warehouse ensuring everything is staged and ready.

?? Key to success? Accountability and action. There’s no blaming, just owning. If a supplier is late, Purchasing will have a backup. If a machine is showing wear, Engineering will address it before it causes downtime.

The mantra is clear:

THE PRODUCTION LINE NEVER STOPS.

?? The result?

By getting everyone aligned and focused each morning, we're creating a culture where the focus is on prevention, not just reaction. This meeting sets the tone for the day and reinforces that every department is responsible for maintaining uninterrupted production flow.

We're setting in place a factory team where discipline, ownership, and proactive action drives results. And as we continue to improve the flow, the entire team becomes more aligned, more disciplined, and more empowered to keep the line running without disruption.

This is Week 3—our journey together continues.
