Week 2 ?? ?? ?

Monday: Vaccines and a Productive Start

Victor had his one-year vaccine—albeit a little late—but he took it like a champ. While he was showing his bravery, I spent the day tackling a long list of tasks. The recent rebranding of the company from CPHUX to UX Unite meant a lot of tedious, detail-oriented work. I dealt with glitches in our event calendar app, updated logos across multiple accounts, and sorted out some membership issues.

In the afternoon, I had a meeting with Viktor Beregszaszi (not my son, but a speaker from a previous UX talk). We brainstormed future gamification and design thinking workshops, which feels like an exciting new direction. The ball’s in his court now, and I’m eager to see where it goes.

Tuesday: Collaboration and Progress

Tuesday was packed with inspiring meetings and meaningful discussions. I kicked things off with Sophia Maria Seitz-Rasmussen . Inspired by Mads og Monopolet, we’re inviting four super senior UX professionals to discuss real-world challenges faced by UX professionals in their companies—everything from hitting a glass ceiling to navigating the clash between tech, user needs, and business goals. It’s all about addressing UX maturity struggles, and I can’t wait to see how this event unfolds.

Next, I met with Ebru Marangoz and another Sofia Chen to catch up on the salary negotiation tool we’ve been working on. We reviewed our progress, addressed some data constraints, and set a path forward. These discussions always remind me how important it is to tackle challenges head-on to create something truly valuable.

In the evening, I caught up with Mette Skovbjerg Koustrup , Agne Baranauskaite , and Mariah Sells to discuss the company insights project. This initiative is designed to help job seekers learn the real story about working at companies—beyond the glossy branding. The survey we’ve developed provides honest insights into company culture, which we hope will be a game-changer for transparency in the job market. It was so motivating to reconnect with this team, align on our goals, and kickstart the year with fresh energy.

Wednesday: All About Communication

The day began with a meeting with Helena Bright to discuss our upcoming events and a project to create an introduction video for UX Unite . We’re hoping to streamline event presentations by letting the video do the talking, so this was all about planning what we needed.

Earlier in the week, I updated our pre-written email sequences and swapped out the old CPHUX branding. Rebranding feels like an endless task; even six months or a year from now, we’ll probably still stumble across outdated logos or names. But it’s a joint effort, and we’re committed to getting it right.

Later, I caught up with Sara, my buddy from an online course course. We talked about our plans over the holidays and scheduled a work session for Thursday. It felt motivating to reconnect and share what we’ve been focusing on.

Thursday: Problem Solving and Swimming

The morning started with a meeting with Sophia Maria Seitz-Rasmussen and Sidsel Jensen about an upcoming panel event we’re planning. The goal is to address the challenges UX professionals face when they hit a glass ceiling at work. We’re inviting panelists to discuss real-life struggles submitted by the community, and I’m thrilled about the potential impact of this event.

In the afternoon, I updated the introduction slides for our events and did a content makeover to make them more concise and polished. One of our members, Erzsébet Bálint , was hosting an event, so I prepped everything she needed since I’d be busy later that day.

The evening was family-focused: a swimming class with the kids, followed by a quick trip to the library to return books and pick up new ones.

Friday: Professional Wins and AI Exploration

The day started with some great news— Katrine Buur from Templafy wrote to say their entire design team is joining UX Unite as members. I was thrilled! This kind of commitment from companies validates the value we bring to UX professionals. It also highlights how employers should invest in their teams’ professional development by giving them access to resources like UX Unite .

Later, I met with Ebru Marangoz to discuss a project. We dove deep into some data challenges, trying to find solutions for segments with fewer data points. We made solid progress and had a great discussion. Then I jumped into a meeting with Gonzalo Lusi Palombarini , who’s creating an animation for our introduction video. His initial storyboard was fantastic, and I’m excited to see it come to life.

In the afternoon, I attended an AI conference at Danmarks Medie- og Journalisth?jskole . While it was targeted at journalists (and some talks felt a bit niche), I enjoyed hearing about how tools like ChatGPT are being used in their workflows. Inspired, I spent the rest of the day working at a café before ending the week with a daycare pickup.

Saturday: Chaos, Cardboards and Crocodiles

Saturday was... turbulent. Olivia’s bath-time antics escalated into a full-on cleaning marathon when we discovered she’d had an accident in the tub. Every toy needed scrubbing, which set the tone for a chaotic day. Lars and I also had a miscommunication that added to the stress, but we worked through it with a good conversation.

On the brighter side, I prepped buns for my mother’s group and spent time at the playground with the kids. We decided to keep things simple and went to McDonald’s for lunch—sometimes, survival is all that matters.

Sunday: Friends, Family, and Fresh Air

Sunday started on a high note with my mother’s group coming over. Five adults and seven kids filled the house, and the vibe was wonderful—good conversation, iced coffee, and plenty of laughs. After they left, though, it was back to reality: cleaning up dishes, toys, and remnants of the week’s chaos.

The day ended with a bit of self-care. I went outside to cut down our wild hedges and found the fresh air incredibly grounding. It’s been ages since I did something like that, and I’m realizing how important it is to carve out time for myself. We treated ourselves to dinner at Bones, because cooking just wasn’t in the cards. Barcelona’s big win against Real Madrid lifted the mood ??
