According to monitoring of 500 county markets and collection points nationwide, in the 3rd week of February (collection date February 20), the prices of piglets and commercial egg chicks increased compared to the previous period, while prices of live pigs, pork, eggs, chicken meat, commercial meat chicks, and beef and mutton products decreased compared to the previous period.
The national average price of piglets was 36.52 yuan/kg, up 0.7% from the previous week and up 25.1% year-on-year. Piglet prices rose in 19 provinces including Xinjiang, Jiangsu, Hebei, Guizhou, and Guangdong; fell in 8 provinces including Shandong, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, and Hainan; and remained unchanged in 2 provinces including Tianjin and Qinghai. The Central China region had the highest price at 38.06 yuan/kg, while the Southwest region had the lowest price at 35.05 yuan/kg.
The national average price of live pigs was 15.79 yuan/kg, down 0.9% from the previous week and up 5.1% year-on-year. Live pig prices rose in 8 provinces including Jiangsu, Fujian, Beijing, Zhejiang, and Guangdong; and fell in 22 provinces including Gansu, Henan, Hainan, Guizhou, and Anhui. The Southwest region had the highest price at 16.85 yuan/kg, while the Northeast region had the lowest price at 15.26 yuan/kg.
The national average price of pork was 27.15 yuan/kg, down 1.6% from the previous week and up 6.7% year-on-year. Pork prices decreased in all 30 monitored provinces. The South China region had the highest price at 29.35 yuan/kg, while the Northeast region had the lowest price at 23.90 yuan/kg.
The national average price of eggs was 9.96 yuan/kg, down 3.1% from the previous week and down 5.4% year-on-year. In the 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Liaoning, the egg price was 8.36 yuan/kg, down 4.5% from the previous week and down 5.7% year-on-year. The national average price of chicken meat was 23.33 yuan/kg, down 0.9% from the previous week and down 3.2% year-on-year. The average price of commercial egg chicks was 4.12 yuan each, up 0.2% from the previous week and up 12.3% year-on-year. The average price of commercial meat chicks was 3.38 yuan each, down 0.3% from the previous week and down 4.2% year-on-year.
The national average price of beef was 65.14 yuan/kg, down 0.4% from the previous week and down 18.1% year-on-year. In major producing provinces including Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shandong, and Xinjiang, the beef price was 53.85 yuan/kg, down 0.2% from the previous week. The national average price of mutton was 69.92 yuan/kg, down 0.6% from the previous week and down 9.5% year-on-year. In major producing provinces including Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, Gansu, and Xinjiang, the mutton price was 64.21 yuan/kg, down 0.1% from the previous week.
Regarding fresh milk prices, in 10 major producing provinces including Inner Mongolia and Hebei, the average price of fresh milk was 3.10 yuan/kg, down 0.3% from the previous week and down 13.9% year-on-year.
