Week's Theme: The Future of Robotics & Advanced Tech Today

On June 10, The Stimme der Wirtschaft of the Zürcher Handelskammer reported that 阿西布朗勃法瑞公司(ABB) , a Zurich-based global technology company specializing in robotics, automation, power, and electrical engineering, has launched OmniCore, a new automation platform through its Robotics division, ABB Robotics .

This system aims to make work processes more precise and effective by automating the control of robots. According to the company, OmniCore ensures faster, more accurate, and autonomous automation of work and production processes. The system represents a step towards a modular control architecture and integrates solutions from artificial intelligence (AI), cloud-based applications, as well as sensor and edge computing systems.

The OmniCore motion control enables robot path accuracy of less than 0.6 millimeters at a working speed of up to 1600 millimeters per second, even when multiple robots work together. OmniCore offers 1000 hardware and software functions, allowing customers to plan, control, and optimize their operations independently.

Marc Segura , Head of the Robotics Division at ABB, highlighted that a unique feature of OmniCore is its ability to control movements, sensors, and application devices through a single integrated system. OmniCore provides access to the entire ABB Robotics hardware and software portfolio in any combination on one control platform.

The development of OmniCore was made possible by strategic funding exceeding 170 million dollars.
