Settle down with the intention of connecting with your inner child through journaling, therapy, or meditation. Let her know that you value her safety and consent and that you merely wish to make choices for her best interest.

It is important that your inner child knows she can release this repeating cycle of the past, but that can only happen when safety is established.

Use this as a model for sustained dialogue with your inner child. Remember to come back to her, check in with her, and listen to her needs.?

As Some of you know I’m an Anglo-Greek Cypriot ... born in the U.K. ????to Greek Cypriot parents ..I had very strict parents and was never allowed out or to go to parties like my friends used to .. boyfriends were a no-no with my dad .. girls had to stay at home cook and clean for the men in the family ... A few times I tried to rebel ....but as soon as my dad yelled out “ ELENI “ ??I knew I was in trouble ... I remember working in my Dads fish and chip shop at the age of 14 ... he would always say we had to work for free as that is what all good Greek girls did ??.. Boy oh boy how times have changed ..
