Week 17: I'm on 'LinkedIn for Creators', Be an Institution-Builder, 'Diplomacy'
I am convinced that writing is a way to help move from ideation to execution and nowadays I experience many instances of this philosophy coming to life in my own journey.
A fundamental shift I noticed is that we don't need to be an expert to write about something, rather writing can be a great way to gain expertise, one step at a time, on any topic. There is a popular saying, maybe not exactly in the same words but its essence goes like this:
The author of a book learns more than all of its readers.
While I always wrote for myself, this form "writing to learn" is very liberating to go public, without any pressure that I must have known everything before I write.
I started to share some of my thoughts openly last year mostly to feel better about my context and also with an intent to make it available for others. Little did I know that one day I would be recognized for this effort by LinkedIn to be one of the earliest members of the LinkedIn for Creator programme in India.
Thanks a ton to everyone who is reading/ engaging with what I write here, it is truly humbling and encouraging to double down the efforts going forward.
Writing is a tool that enables people in every discipline to wrestle with facts and ideas. It’s a physical activity, unlike reading. —?William Zinsser
Topics of the week
1. Become an Institution-builders
I happened to attend a webinar this week where I learnt what it takes to become an institution-builder. It appears to be a bit of wordplay when you hear for the first time but it is a lot more nuanced. To understand more about how to become an institution-builder I suggest reading this brief blog on how institutions are built.
2. Diplomacy & Twiplomacy:
One of the topics that can be of great interest in current times is Diplomacy, what it is and what it is not. Do you know that there is something called "Twitter Diplomacy"? I recommend you start with the Wikipedia page on Diplomacy and also explore Twiplomacy, yes that's a word.

From the internet/metaverse
I am sure most of us would have spent the highest amount of time on the internet in recent weeks, considering what is happening in the world right now.
I don't have anything to add in this section except this thought to mull over:
It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanty. —?Albert Einstein
Personal updates
As a part of the LinkedIn for Creators programme, I was encouraged to apply for the Creator Accelerator Program and I do have a concept ready so I am considering applying soon. You can find the details of the program by clicking the below image.
I will soon unveil the idea I am going to work on and as a heads up I can say that is related to a topic I shared earlier on LinkedIn a couple of times, once here and then again here.
If you are interested to talk to me about it, send me a DM. I will make time to speak to you for sure.
This marks the end of the Week 17 edition.
Until next Friday,?keep?tracing your mastery.
