Week 17.
I am thrilled with how training went this week..with a short 17 weeks to go to my first 140.6-mile triathlon scheduled for October 23 in Sacramento, CA! I continue to get stronger despite the extreme adversity I train in and face daily, like my six-month contract had ended with DIRECTV this past week. I am available to start immediately on a full-time or contract basis for those reading this! Any help you can provide in helping me land my next role would be appreciated.
Swimming: 3?hours, 7 min for a total distance of 9,843 yards.?My fastest swim of the week was 2,734 yards at a pace of 1:52/100 yards. No fins. No breaks. And I love my Shokz Openswim headphones!?
Cycling: 7h36m for a total of 146.2 miles!?I am now on level 24 on Zwift! This morning I was joined by two Zwifters for my 3-hour ride, which covered 58 miles, an average pace of 19.4, followed by a 5-mile run right off the bike at a pace of 7:50 for a total time of 39:18. Shoutout to Roland Bielskus for joining me this morning for our three-hour training session!
Running: 4h49m for a total mileage of 34.4 miles.?My long run of the week was 13.2 miles at a pace of 8:42 with a heart rate of 141. I dropped 10 minutes on this particular loop, and it was my second fastest half marathon ever! My fastest run of the week was immediately following a 58-mile ride at a pace of 7:50. Last Sunday, I did the same run off the bike at a pace of 8:16 for a total time of 41:27. I am thrilled with my progress of?dropping 26 seconds per mile in one week.
And finally, Mico and I walked 15.4 miles this week. 104,110 steps for the week,?or an average of 14,872 steps a day.
Elbow Break
There is a significant difference in my running pre- and post-elbow break. The strength I gained wearing that splint 24/7 for eight weeks changed everything! While it wasn't pleasant, it was a necessary evil. Adversity made me stronger.

I can kind of touch my collarbone now, and I can do squats with a 30lb kettle bell!. My doctor confirmed that my arm would straighten out at least 10 to 15 degrees in the coming months. Thank you, Coach K, for your time and wisdom!
