Week 10 - Allow yourself to let go

Week 10 - Allow yourself to let go

Letting go is not a natural act. Sometimes we need to let go of ideas, opportunities, people, behaviors, or environments where we have outgrown.

As there are 2 weeks left in this season, spring approaches in the northern hemisphere and fall convenes in the southern hemisphere, take time to clear.

Allow yourself to let go.

Here's how....

Professionally

  1. Acknowledge what's been working well in your job/career.
  2. Notice what behaviors, attitudes, or perspectives you want to change.
  3. Write 2-3 subtle shifts you can make or actions to take.
  4. Set a realistic weekly intention, objective, and ideal outcome(s).
  5. Reflect weekly on your results. Celebrate your progress.

Personally:

  1. Clear your physical space - organize materials, remove clutter, donate, etc.
  2. Create a zen zone - a place to recharge at home or a ritual to return to.
  3. Choose a word / theme for the season. What's the opposite of how you've been feeling lately?
  4. Anchor your vision - create a virtual or physical vision board.
  5. Take time in solitude to explore how you feel, what you want, and who you are becoming.

Letting go is a process. The Sanskrit word, Aparigraha, means non-attachment or non-grasping, often a difficult concept for professionals to weave in to our work life. When we choose an intention or an emotion we desire, we allow ourselves to be in the process or flow more easily without attachment to outcome.

We can let go and still get things done. It's about doing so from a place of wisdom, not wounds. Allow yourself 2 weeks to let go, organize, and clear space for a new season. You'll feel lighter and notice a shift.

If you like this, consider doing an audit for one week on how you spend your time, energy, and money. This will give you data and if done with an objective lens, give you opportunity to create sustainable change.

Keep growing, keep going. Don't give up on yourself.

Warmly,

Jessica
