The week that was: 06 - 12 Sep 2021
Yet another week passes by, leaving us to wonder what's in store for us in this world, cos of our own behaviour with each other and nature.
The week marks the ending of Lord Krishna's birth celebrations and has Lord Ganesha's birth week beginning on Friday, the 10 Sept. In India, the Ganesha festival is one of the very revered ones and is also celebrated with a lot of pomp and show. So much money gets splashed on the festivities through nine days of the festival time, unlike that of a single day for Lord Krishna. This also brings in some togetherness in people in planning events (?) and some camaraderie among the believers.
As expected, the Taliban has announced that Shariyat will be the law of administration in Afghanistan, and the people of the country are perterbed and may be rightly so. We have to wait and watch as to how this is going to unfold, in terms of Afghanistan's geopolitical relationships with other countries and specifically with immediate neighbours.
The week ended with Ganesha celebrations at home and immersion of Ganesha, made of mud by myself in a nearby tank. This was such a great feeling as we had pooja for the last three days, and kids love this, as they get a variety of food on their plates.
