Tell us a little about yourself and who you work for?

I’ve played various levels of basketball from the age of 6 years old right up to now. I’m Movie and TV Series geek!

I work for 9Round and have been with the company since November 2015.

What is your role there?

Area Manager / Franchisee Support

What are 3 words to describe your current company? 

Dynamic, Proactive, exciting

What advice would you give someone looking to join your company?

Be enthusiastic, engaging and inspirational! We employ people based on their personality and attitude.

What is your proudest moment in your career so far?

Gaining a promotion to Area Manager

What are your thoughts on the recruitment industry?

Very competitive, seems as if it can be dog eat dog at times. Generally from my experience of Leisure Recruitment, most people know each other so it’s very cordial.

How has your experience been with Love Recruitment?

Very good. Love Recruitment understand what we look for and care about the quality of candidates they put in front of us. Every time I’ve given feedback it’s been well received and implemented right away.

Can you tell us your thoughts on #sharethelove?

I think it’s great. From my experience, the Leisure industry doesn’t do a very good job of celebrating good service / staff members. Any opportunity to do so is awesome.

What advice do you have for prospective candidates potentially looking for a new role?

Be yourself, showcase your personality and conduct background research on the company (it’s amazing how many candidates don’t unless they’re told!). Also, be patient. You’ll likely not find your dream role right away.

What are the best and worst interview questions you ever faced?

Best – If successful, what changes would you implement to improve the product?

Worst – Describe a scenario in which you’ve delivered excellent customer service (surely everyone dislikes that one?)

Who has had the biggest influence on your career and why?

My Parents. They supported me in leaving University to pursue a career in the fitness industry. I went straight into a Personal Training course a few weeks later and haven’t looked back since.

Before working at your current company, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had??

Golf club – picking up golf balls in a buggy on the driving range!

Any random facts you could share with us? 

A pound of houseflies contains more protein than a pound of beef

A sneeze travels about 100 miles per hour

What advice would you give to someone on their first day??

Have a strong coffee, ask lots of questions and soak in as much information as you can

What are your hopes for your industry??

For brands to continue to grow and develop the fitness products they offer, ensuring they meet the needs of all consumers.

I’d like everyone to have equal wealth and opportunities

Listen to others

Implement others ideas and give them credit

Empowerment
