Have you noticed this in your wedding business?
We're seeing each step of the journey they are taking even more time to consider if you're right for them. From the time the enquiry (inquiry for my ????-ers), through to the next calls, tour or meeting, right until signing a contract. Each step is taking MUCH longer.
So what can you do?
1. Recognise that digital connection in the new currency. When they see your website and socials (before they even reach out - I call this the stalking zone) they're looking for why your business is a good fit. These online areas cannot just be a place to house your contact info. It's in these locations couples are deciding if you could be the one, the style, wording, imagery, ease of finding information. You are being judged here before you even know they exist.
2. A first contact (email or DM) is not a declaration of working together. Think of it as a 'first date', where they're looking to see if they like your style, personality and way with them. This is them opening the door to find out more to see if you're a good fit. (Ever noticed how they'll ask for pricing even though it's clear as day on the website? It's like a 'chat-up line', a conversation opener. Don't miss the signal!)
3. Don't ghost them! Many Wedding Pros have ghosting issues but they don't realise they are the ones ghosting the couples. Today's modern engaged humans need multiple touch points to help them see if you're the one. If you aren't nurturing your couples you're leaving money on the table.?Now, don't get me wrong, cold call is not on trend, not in season and is best left in the last decade. So if you're still a GM telling their team to "Pick up the phone" we need to talk.
