For many, life's unpredictabilities can throw them off course. A sudden illness, a child's education fees, or even just making ends meet can become daunting. Understanding this, VVM has extended a hand of support with "WeCare". Whether it's food, counselling, medical assistance, or even toys for children, VVM ensures that its employees are never left stranded.

One might wonder what sets this initiative apart. The answer lies in its discreetness. The entire process is kept 100% anonymous.

This maintains the dignity of those in need while allowing them to receive the necessary assistance. Monthly donations from VVM's compassionate workforce, starting September 2023, will bolster this strategy. The list of donation items is extensive and thoughtful - from clothing and food to even dog and cat food. These contributions will go directly to the staff members who've reached out for assistance.

"Our colleagues are fighting every day to get to work, pay school fees, buy medicine, buy food, and where do they go for help? The VVM Cares project was created to be there for our employees in a time of need."

Meet Jerry: A Story of Perseverance and Growth at VVM

“I love this company: when you achieve, and work hard you will always be rewarded.”

Meet Jerry; hailing from Limpopo, he joined VVM in 2012. At the time, he knew little about collections and computers but had a dream to fulfil. Like all superhero stories, everything is not smooth sailing. In the first couple of months, Jerry struggled to find his feet and caused him to miss his targets.?

“I wasn’t reaching my targets but our call centre director saw something in me and spoke with me. She told me that my potential needed me to roll up my sleeves. She believed in me, and this made me believe in myself”.?

With grit and dedication, not only did he meet his targets in the succeeding months, but he consistently surpassed them each month after that. As the years rolled on, his unparalleled dedication didn't go unnoticed. Jerry gradually took on more responsibilities and was promoted.?

"There was an unwavering belief in who I am, in what I do. The team I was in wanted to have the number 1 book and I didn’t stop until we were."

Life, however, has its set of challenges. As a proud father, grandfather and son, Jerry works hard to provide for his family. With the growing expenses of life, education and all that comes with it, Jerry wanted to give his 19-year-old daughter the opportunity to study.?

“What I love the most about VVM is that your voice is heard. Through open communication with my managers, I know they are listening. So when I spoke to my managers about my situation, they heard me and we worked together to find a solution that allowed my daughter to study what she was passionate about - psychology.”?

Jerry's voice fills with pride when he speaks of his daughter, "She's doing so well, and I'm so so proud of her." But his vision doesn’t stop there. Jerry is the last born and had a dream to build his mother a house. Working hard, reaching his targets and consistently working to grow in the company and his role, has given him the financial means to build this home.??

Jerry envisions taking on more responsibilities and growing within VVM. His approach to management mirrors this belief, as VVM gives him the freedom to manage his team to get the best results possible.

"I am encouraged by VVM to grow, I am encouraged to teach and share my knowledge with my team members. I am encouraged to be courageous and put myself out there. Whatever you want to do in this life you have to be courageous and at VVM they allow this to happen! "?

When asked about his vision for the future:?

“I am good at working with people. I want to grow and get more responsibility. I want to grow and learn every day, I want to grow in the business and grow personally. I plan to spend my career at VVM. I feel heard and they are listening to me. When you have a place that listens to you and allows you to be yourself - that’s where you are meant to be.”
