Webinar Takeaway: How to Strengthen Business with Sustainability ??

In today’s world, sustainability is more than just a buzzword - it’s a strategic necessity. Companies that embrace sustainable practices not only protect the environment but also build long-term value for customers, shareholders, and society as a whole - taking part in creating a greener and happier future for all.

Realizing that efforts towards sustainability cannot be done alone, Senang Eco Services feels a responsibility to spread awareness of it. Believing that each step matters, we recently concluded a webinar, “How to Strengthen Business with Sustainability” with Bakrie Center Foundation . We thank everyone who joined us for this insightful and impactful session, and look forward to more!

Here are some key takeaways from the discussion:

  1. Innovation in Action: Studies show that companies that have successfully revamped their products and processes to be more sustainable, driving both growth and positive environmental impact. Mr. Pungkas Bahjuri Ali as the Expert Staff for Social Affairs and Poverty Reduction in Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Republic of Indonesia , mentioned Great Giant Food for giving a good example in making this effort, “Implementing a circular economy through their zero waste system, it generates up to 85 billion in revenue per year”.
  2. The Importance of Sustainability Hotspot: Knowing the sustainability hotspots that really impact each company helps to prioritize actions that drive the most significant improvements. Andrian Dwi Kurniawan n as CEO Senang elaborate “Knowing the company’s priority issue and their own nature in business with help to define their hotspots which later developed into action
  3. Storytelling about Sustainability: Not green-washing, but embedding sustainability into the company’s brand. “Find a balance in the alignment of the company's sustainability progress and storytelling, by narrowing down the company’s sustainability priorities, rather than just doing everything. This helps create a more authentic image.” said Jessica Anandajoo as a sustainability consultant and expert in stakeholder engagement.
  4. Sustainability as a Strategic Advantage: Our experts highlighted how integrating sustainability into business strategy is essential for staying competitive in today’s market. Rob de Laet quoted, “Companies that are more sustainable, tend to be more profitable”.

To ensure that no one is left behind in achieving the SDGs, the role of the business world is crucial. The business world plays an important role in ensuring sustainable development can be felt by all levels of society through reducing carbon emissions and creating inclusive and equitable jobs.” stated Mr. Bahjuri Ali who is also the Head of National SDGs Secretary in Bappenas.

The conversation doesn’t end here. As we move forward, it’s crucial to keep sustainability at the heart of our business decisions. As Senang Eco Services’s CEO, Andrian said “Sustainability is a journey”, thus it’s always going to be an ongoing effort on a daily basis.

Thank you once again to our incredible speakers and all participants for making this event a success. Let’s continue working together to build businesses that are not only profitable but also sustainable and responsible.
