Webinar on COVID-19 Vaccines and the LGBTQ+ Community
CVS Health and Accenture have partnered on an LGBTQ+ Health Care Speaker Series addressing longstanding health equity issues featuring prominent speakers in the health care industry and LGBTQ+ community. As the executive sponsor of the CVS Health Pride + Colleague Resource Group, I invite you to watch the first video to learn more about vaccine hesitancy within the LGBTQ+ community.
Recent studies show that LGBTQ+ people overall are more hesitant to get vaccinated against COVID-19. In this panel discussion, experts share insights on the COVID-19 vaccine within the LGBTQ+ community against the backdrop of overall health equity and address issues the LGBTQ+ community is now facing, such as:
- Interactions of the COVID-19 vaccine with ARV and hormone therapy drugs
- Pandemic impact on the LGBTQ+ community including youth, transgender and elder populations
- The effects of the pandemic on the mental health and homelessness in the LGBTQ+ community
- The disproportionate effect on intersectional minority communities
- Ways to build trust moving forward
The panel of experts includes:
- Joel Helle, CVS/Specialty, Vice President, Physician Services
- Michael Petersen, MD, Accenture, Director, Health Equity and Innovation Lead
- J. Maurice McCants-Pearsall, HRC, Director of HIV & Health Equity
- Tim Johnston, SAGE, Senior Director of National Projects
- Tammy Lewis, Moderator, CMO, CVS Caremark
- Erica Adler, Pharm D, RPH, CVSH Pharmacy Manager
You can view the panel discussion here. I hope you’ll invite others to watch and share on social media to help us increase understanding on this important topic.

3 年So important to expand access to care for the LGBTQ+ community instead of limiting it as some states/groups are doing.
Thanks Dan for your sponsorship and partnership in this program to address these important topics for the LGBTQ + community.
