WebFlow or Code
I as a developer have always liked the idea of new code techniques and creating my own code especially writing CSS and HTML.
I have just been playing around for about 5 hours this morning on WebFlow and seeing what it can do and I have to admit, as editors go this is pretty sweet! It not only produces good looking websites but also has fairly clean code.
Being honest I don’t think as it is yet it can replace a developer for everything but as technology grows and WebFlow along with it, I can see it becoming somewhat of an industry go to tool, especially for designers as they will no longer have the need to seek out someone to code.
Is this the way forward in Web design and development? I am at a crossroads with this, I can see the benefits with regards to putting out a fully functional web site in very little time and the overall costs involved but as a developer I like to have full control over my code.
Of course, to a lot of people, what I am saying here could be just a load of rubbish or the insecurities of a developer, disagreements, and excuses but for others I hope this will bring up some thoughts on where we are heading.
I want to say though that my thoughts with code do not in any way take anything away from WebFlow as it is an awesome bit of kit and if you haven’t already you should try it today for free, you are limited to two projects on the free demo but it is enough to see you through and the CMS is also very good and easy to administer through.
I would like to know peoples opinions on the code vs webflow so please post below, this is my first article so be nice.
